Sunday 30th April

April 30, 2017

Today we headed to Salisbury where CHEVAL BLANCHE provided us with a winner to round off the month. She looked to be a bit keen on leaving the gates and went on to lead early on. She kept on well to assert herself inside the final furlong and was given a good ride by Lulu Stanford. It was a good win from her and we will see how she is before making further plans. Hopefully she will keep proving progressive.

On Monday we head to Bath with a nice two-year-old colt, JOE’S SPIRIT making his racecourse debut. He has been working nicely with CHOICE ENCOUNTER and we expect him to give a good account of himself here.

On Tuesday we have seven runners at the various meetings. We start the afternoon off at Nottingham where MAIN DESIRE makes her racecourse debut. She is another who has pleased in her work at home and we expect a nice debut run from her. Later on the card ARMAGNAC takes his chance. He raced far too freely last time and when asked for his effort he could not find a lot. I think he will be seen to better effect here. At Yarmouth CHOICE ENCOUNTER makes his re-appearance after his fourth at Nottingham. He appears to have come on for that run and should hopefully be competitive. Later on the card TAUREAN STAR makes a return to racing. He has been off the track since August and looks to have thrived for his winter break. He has been working well at home and certainly has ability. We round off the day with RAY’S THE MONEY who has had the visor removed and replaced with sheepskin cheek pieces. He got going too late at Chelmsford when asked for his effort and hopefully he will be kept more handily here. At Chelmsford ARABIAN JAZZ makes her racecourse debut. She is another who has progressed well in her work and although she might be better suited by six furlongs we expect her to run well. We round off the day with THREE DUCHESSES at Wolverhampton. She looks to have done well for her winter break and already has form at the track. She seems to like the all weather surfaces having previously won at Newcastle. She rounds off a busy day for the Fitzroy team.

Yesterday the horses worked on the watered gallop.
