On Saturday we were delighted with the debut run of JIVE TALKING at Newmarket. Held up, she made some good headway at the halfway stage and ran on nicely at the finish. It was a nice introductory run from the filly and she looks as though she will stay further. She is in again on Saturday at Newcastle where she could just take her chance. Later on the card it was great to get a winner on the board with FRANKLIN D. He was well placed throughout the race and when asked for his effort he drew nicely clear. It was a good effort and he could go for the Betfred Mile at Goodwood next week. We rounded off the day with ALCANAR at Lingfield. Settled in fourth, he was ridden over three out, when he got slightly hampered by a rival. He kept on at the one pace weakening in the final furlong. It was a disappointing effort as we certainly expected much more from him as his work has been good at home.

On Monday we headed up to Ayr with THREE DUCHESSES. Everything looked to be in her favour with the step up in trip, which she looked to be crying out for on her previous runs. She was the form horse in the race and this clearly was not her true running. The only thing we can think is that maybe the ground went against her.

This evening we head to Leicester with SCIARRA. She looks to be better suited by seven furlongs, but hopefully she will be suited by the uphill finish at Leicester and the six furlongs will not inconvenience him.

Tomorrow we head to Sandown where STETCHWORTH PARK is hoping to keep his decent run of form going. He seems to have improved for the sheepskin cheek pieces and hopefully he can run well again here. Later on the card GOODWOOD MIRAGE was an unlucky loser where things did not go his way at Doncaster on his last start. Hopefully if he recreates that run and things go right for him, he should take all the beating.

On Friday we start the day off at Thirsk where we have declared DANCING ELEGANCE. She showed plenty of promise on her debut at Newbury and appears to have come on for that run. It would be great to see that improvement here. At Newmarket we start the evening off with FIRE BRIGADE who shaped with promise on his debut run at Goodwood where he just got tired possibly from lack of fitness. He has been working well and we think he is a nice horse. We round off the meeting with BLUE MOON RISING who has failed to find her form so far.
