On Sunday we headed to Nottingham with ORANGE BLOOM. She was always struggling to go early on and never got competitive. She is entered in the July Sales and we will see how the handicapper assesses her before making further plans.

On Monday we were delighted to get a win on the board with BERLAND at Leicester. He raced handily throughout and came through to lead two furlongs out, before going on to win quite readily. He should continue to improve at around ten furlongs this year on a decent surface. He is a nice horse and has plenty of potential. At Lingfield STRAIT OF MAGELLAN was being stepped up in trip on his handicap debut after a five month break. He was visored for the first time and was clear of all bar the improved winner, who had race-fitness on his side. He looks likely to progress and heads to Bath on Friday where hopefully he can get the job done.

Today we have seen disappointing efforts from both MODEST and BIPARTISAN. Sadly the ground had dried up too much for her and she could not be seen to best effect. Later on the card BIPARTISAN looked to get herself wound up in the preliminaries and so we will put a line through this run as we know she is better than how she acted here.

Tomorrow we head to Lingfield with BORN TO REIGN who is well capable of winning this type of contest. It would be great to see him bounce back to form. Later on the card PENANG PAPARAJAH takes his chance and he has been doing some nice pieces of work at home. Stepped up in trip we expect him to give a good account of himself. At Kempton we have declared BAREFOOT DANCER to run. He seems to have thrived since his gelding operation and hopefully that will work the oracle and he can get his head in front.

Today the horses worked on the watered gallop
