TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER

MONDAY 5TH OCTOBER

Well we have just seen MONT AGEL win in fantastic style. He looked as though he has learned a lot from his first outing where he was third. He was settled nicely and when Jamie pushed the button the win never looked in any doubt. He is developing into a nice individual and is going to be a very nice horse for next year. Later on the card at Windsor we have had to withdraw HALFAY HOUSE due to the change of ground which would not have suited him.

On Saturday I had really expected a better show from L'ENCHANTERESSE at Newmarket. Sadly the rain never arrived which would certainly have helped her chance but having been placed on all four starts she was stepped up in trip for this handicap debut. She was not far away early on but raced a little keen and dropped away from over a furlong out. She looks as though she is better suited by six furlongs and surely she can win a race before the sales. We did hit the 41 winner mark when WILD ROSE won at Wolverhampton. She looked to have her work cut out after a slow start but she stayed on really well once she finally got a clear run and won nicely. We like her a lot and hopefully she will be a nice filly for next year. GRAMERCY was another who was slow away from the gate and had to be checked when making his move turning in. Its hard to say if the hindrances cost him a winning chance, but he would most likely have been in the first three. He will certainly come on from the run and will have learned a lot from his racecourse debut. In the evening at Belmont Park we had MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE running and sadly in America they did get the rain which hindered her chances. She gave another good account of herself on a surface she would not have particularly liked to finish fourth.

Tomorrow we have three runners at Leicester with the first of these being SYRIAN who should have a good chance in a four runner field. The key is getting him to settle which hopefully Hayley will achieve and he get back into winning ways. Later on the card we have RED HORSE who is running in selling company. He is certainly better we think than selling company and hopefully a win will help boost his value at the forthcoming Horses in Training Sales. Our last runner of the day is DOVE MEWS and we know if they course gets rain she should have a good solid chance as she has been waiting for cut in the ground.

On Wednesday we are running LADY ARTEMISIA and MIDWESTERN at Nottingham. MIDWESTERN looks to have come on for his recent run at Newbury and we expect to see some improvement. LADY ARTEMISIA is another who has been waiting for the rain which is finally starting to come. She has been in good form in her work and hopefully will give a good account of herself here.

FRIDAY 2ND OCTOBER

Well sadly we have no runner in the Arc this year after a decision was made not to supplement SARISKA and looking at the weather forecast you have to agree that it was the correct decision. I only hope that the forecasters are right and that no rain arrives at Longchamp. It looks as though it is left to SEE THE STARS to shine now. We do have a big runner though at the weekend as we have MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE running in the Flower Bowl. She looks to have a good solid chance and it would be great to see her win again. She has settled in really well and has been eating and drinking. She has left her quarantine yard and was exercised today for the first time. She is such a sweetheart and hopefully she will give a good account of herself.

Today we have already had three runners at Lingfield the first of these being NIGHT KNIGHT. He tracked the leading trio and looked under pressure over three furlongs from home. He lost place over two furlongs out and rallied inside the final furlong at the one pace to take fourth. He is showing some improvement and hopefully he may be able to win again before the sales. Later on the card we introduce two, two year olds to the track in the same maiden. MADAME ROULIN looks a very nice filly in the making. She tracked the leaders and was asked for effort over two furlongs out and kept on one pace in final furlong. She looks a nice filly and we are hopeful she will come on allot from the race. SHARP AND CHIC dwelt at the start and was held up in last pair. She was pushed along over two furlongs out and finished in the middle of the field. She could possibly run again before the sales but we will see how she has taken the race before making further decisions with her.

On Wednesday evening we had just the one runner in ROYAL BET and he gain run free for the early part of the race which does not help his chances and he was staying on again inside the final furlong.

Yesterday it was good to see LOCHAN MOR put up a good effort at Wolverhampton. He was ridden to lead inside final furlong but sadly was headed to finish second. It was a great effort considering he has been off the track for 76 days and he will come on from this runs. Down here at Newmarket BAHAMIAN BABE did not show her form and finished down the field. She was being tried over six furlongs for the first time and looked as though she possibly did not stay.

We have GASSIN left to run today and he should have a very good chance being applied with the visor for the first time.

Tomorrow we have L'ENCHANTERESSE running down here at Newmarket and she has been doing some nice pieces of work in the lead up to this. She would certainly be helped if we were to get some rain but I think she will run well. At Wolverhampton we see the re-appearance of WILD ROSE who won last time. She has been in good form at home and we think she is a nice filly. Our last runner of the day is GRAMERCY and he is nice horse who has been working nicely at home. Although he still looks a bit green he will come on from the run and we expect him to improve for the race. We like him allot.

WEDNESDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER

Sadly our odds on shot HORSERADISH failed to get up at Southwell and win having looked the certain winner with two furlongs left to run. He was absolutely cantering and when asked to go he did not go straight away and was beaten by a 100-1 shot. I think I would possibly liked to have seen him kick for home a bit earlier but he is a nice horse who is improving all the time and it easy to watch these things and criticize. GREEK KEY looked as though he was going to mount a strong challenge after traveling well in the first part of the race and then dropped away from the leaders inside the final furlong. He looks as though he is going to be suited by a drop back to six furlongs and hopefully he will get some cut in the ground for his next run if the rain ever arrives.

Today the horses worked again on the watered gallop. It was a really dark grey day and so sadly I obviously could not use a flash on my camera and so the pictures I am afraid are not great.

We have ROYAL BET running tonight at Kempton where we think he should have a good solid chance. I would like to see him make the running as he runs quite free in amongst other horses.

Tomorrow we have declared BAHAMIAN BABE to run here at Newmarket and it would be great to see this filly get her head in front. She still seems to look really well in herself and is working nicely. At Wolverhampton we have declared LOCHAN MOR and hopefully he will not be unsuited by the all weather track. He is in good form but needs cut in the ground so the polytrack is the only option for him.

GREAT CHARM

The first to work was GREAT CHARM who looked in fantastic form. He is ready to run and we have made entries for him for next week but we do need for the heavens to open for him to run.

JUICY PEAR, GRAMERCY AND TELL HALAF

JUICY PEAR seems to have got over his problems from earlier in the season and he worked well leading the improving GRAMERCY and TELL HALAF who both worked well and look to be nice prospects.

GASSIN AND DOVE MEWS

GASSIN worked well wearing a visor for the first time and he will run in this on Friday evening at Wolverhampton. He gave DOVE MEWS  a lead and she looked in good form and is now waiting for the rain to arrive. She could well run at Leicester on Tuesday

PASTEL BLUE, WILD ROSE, TWILIGHT TEAR AND CARDOSSI

PASTEL BLUE was very keen but still went well in her work. We are going to have to work on trying to get her to settle. WILD ROSE looks to have come on from her run and she is due to head to Wolverhampton on Saturday evening. TWIGHLIGHT TEAR worked nicely but is still a bit green and lacks some experience. She will be a nice filly given time and CARDOSSI followed the first three fillies up to learn and is now starting to get the hang of things.

MONDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER

It has been a busy weekend but sadly it has produced no winners. On Saturday we started the day at Ascot where we had REDFORD running. He looked as though the race may have come to soon for him as he was never really traveling and we thought that with the visor applied it would help him but sadly it did not. He has come out of the race in good form and we will see how he is before deciding if we should run him again. BRAE HILL gave a much better effort than his last run at Wolverhampton. He had to wait for a gap and only got in the clear at the top of the straight. He kept on well against the far rail but had no answer to the winner´s late burst. At Kempton PIQUANTE was hopping to break her maiden and again travelled well through the early stages of the race. When asked to go she found very little and weakened inside the final furlong. It is very disappointing that this filly is still yet to win a race. Our last runner was BELLE ZORRO who showed some improvement from her first run. She was held up in touch in midfield and was ridden over two furlongs out. She looks as though she would benefit and be more effective over a longer trip.

On Sunday we had the three runners at Ascot with the first of these being ART CONNOISSEUR who had been penalized by his win at the track earlier in the season and was carrying a six pound penalty. He was held up and was ridden two furlongs out and weakened inside the final furlong. FARMER GILES looked an unlucky loser, he was settled towards the rear of the field and when he got going he was switched a couple of times and had his runs blocked and when he did get a clear run he was finishing very quickly to grab fourth. Hopefully we will have another chance with him. Our last runner was the BETCHWORTH KID who was not helped by the steady early pace and could not mount a challenge coming in the final stages of the race.

We have no runners today and then on Tuesday we head to SOUTHWELL where if HORSERADISH shows the normal improvement from his run at Ayr and does not mind the Southwell surface should have a great chance. He looks to have come on so much in his work and fingers crossed he will give a good account of himself. Our only other runner is GREEK KEY who has also been in good form and we are hoping he can show some improvement here.

FRIDAY 25TH sEPTEMBER

We had two runners yesterday, one at Pontefract and one at Kempton. We had high hopes for MISS WHIPPY  after her win last time at Windsor and she looked to struggle to go the pace early on and was doing her best work in the later part of the race. She ran on well inside the final furlong to get third. She has taken her race well and hopefully we will get the opportunity to run her again before the sales. Our only other runner was THELADYISATRAMP at Kempton and she pulled hard early on in her race. She hung right after only going a furlong and stayed in mid-division until ridden with two furlongs left to run and then weakened. She still races green and will certainly improve but she is another who is in the sales.

We have no runners again today but it is a busy weekend with three runners on Saturday and three on Sunday. BRAE HILL heads back to Chester where he is a course and distance winner and he has been in good form at home. He is another who is in the sales and it would be great to head here with another victory under his belt. REDFORD who has returned from Ayr in great form heads to Ascot and he will be wearing a visor for the first time. It again looks as though he may not befavoured by the best of draws but he should appreciate the extra furlong we feel. At Kempton PIQUANTE is given another chance to gain her first victory and she worked nicely on Wednesday. She is a filly who should not still be a maiden and hopefully things will go right for her here. Our last runner is BELLE ZORRO who is also heading to Kempton. She ran well for the early part of her first run, getting tired in the last furlong. She looks to have come on a lot from the run and we expect her to run well here.

On Sunday we have declared ART CONNOISSEUR at his favourite track Ascot. He is in good form and hopefully being drawn fifteen of fifteen will not inconvenience him to much as when he won he was drawn coming up the stands rail and he can again give the run he gave at the course earlier in the year. FARMER GILES gave a much better effort last time being tried over the seven furlongs for the first time which looked as though it suited him. He again tackles this distance and hopefully if he settles again like he did on his previous outing he should go close. Our final runner on Sunday is THE BETCHWORTH KID and it would be great if he could follow his victory at Salisbury last time with another victory here in the Listed Fenwolf Stakes. With only five other runners he should hopefully have a good chance.

The yearling sales start in Ireland next week and the Boss is heading over to have a look at the entries. The yearling sales seem to come round quicker and quicker every year and it is hard to believe it is already that time again. It can be an exciting time dreaming that one of them could be the next Motivator or Sariska!

WEDNESDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER

Its been a quiet week for us all with no runners thus far but we return to the action tomorrow when we have one runner at Kempton and one runner at Pontefract. Our first runner is MISS WHIPPY who is hoping to build on her victory at Windsor last time as she tries her hand in nursery company. She has been in good form since her win and we are again expecting a big run from her. Our only runner at Kempton is the LADYISATRAMP who showed some ability on her first run and she has been dropped into claiming class where hopefully she will have a good chance. She looks to have come on from her race and it would be nice to see her give a good effort here.

With the lack of rain about at present it is making things quite frustrating for running the horses and again this morning the horses had to work on the watered gallop.

GREAT CHARM AND REDFORD

GREAT CHARM looked in great form as he led REDFORD who was wearing the visor for the first time in an easy piece of work over six. REDFORD could run again on Saturday at Ascot.

GRAMERCY HORSERADISH AND FARMER GILES

HORSERADISH looks to have come on from his run at Ayr and he worked really well under Mrs Bell. GRAMERCY continues to improve all the time and would not be far from a run and FARMER GILES was settled nicely in behind the two. He could run on Sunday at Ascot and he really seems to be getting his act together settling really well now he is being tried over further.

PLAYGROUND AND CHRUCH OF ENGLAND

CHURCH OF ENGLAND is a fine looking colt and although still on the weak side he went nicely with PLAYGROUND who is another that is improving but is possibly an end of season runner. They are both good prospects for next season and we like them alot.

ONE LONDON, JUICY PEAR AND CONCEPTUAL ART

ONE LONDON looks to be coming to hand and he is improving in his work. He worked nicely with JUICY PEAR who suffered an injury which meant we had to back off him but it was great to see him back and CONCEPTUAL art was doing his first piece of work after spending some time at his owners stud. They all look to be going the right way and gave pleasing efforts here.

BINTEHER DUNTHAT AND L'ENCHANTERESSE

BINTHERE DUNTHAT is really starting to take shape and she went well with L'ENCHANTERESSE who surely has to be breaking her maiden tag soon.

MOYENNE CORNICHE AND ALLIED POWERS

These two colts looked in great form and are ready to run as soon as the wet weather arrives if ever does!

LOMBOK AND THE BETCHWORTH KID

LOMBOK was doing his first piece of work for a while and he went well with THE BETCHWORTH KID who is entered at Ascot at the weekend. He is also entered in France at the middle of October and it is so sad to think that he will then be having his last run for us before he moves to his jump yard. he has been such a star and hopefully wherever he runs he will go out on a winning note.

PIQUANTE AND ROYAL BET

PIQUANTE again worked well with ROYAL BET and both should hopefully be winning before the Horses in Training sales.

MONDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER

Well sadly we did not fair well at Ayr and even though we had picked the wrong side in the draw, REDFORD failed to make any impression and had to settle for tenth spot. He was traveling well and then with two left to run he was given a smack down his neck and stayed on at the same pace. He certainly would have liked it a lot softer than it was but as with everywhere at present there seems to be a lack of rain. He has taken the race well and is entered again on Saturday at Ascot.

We have had no runners today and we have declared nothing for Tuesday and Wednesday. Hopefully we will return to action on Thursday and we look to have a busy weekend coming up.

FRIDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER

Well after a few busy days things slow down again and we are left with only the one runner on Saturday at Ayr in the big race the Gold Cup. REDFORD will be taking his chance here and after having loads of luck being picked first out of the hat we hope we have done the right thing picking draw 26 which is mainly down to Tim our Assistant and the boss. They will not be popular if this is not correct decision on Saturday afternoon. The horses odds shortened after his draw so they are not the only ones that think this could be a plum draw.

We got to the 38 winner mark on Wednesday evening when WILD ROSE confirmed the promise that she has shown at Chepstow and won nicely at Kempton. She was always kept about fifth position and when asked to go she managed to just get her head in front beating the hot favorite. Also joining her in the race was BELLE ZORRO who was having her first outing of her career. She was always up with the pace and coming inside the last couple of furlongs she looked as though she got tired. It was an encouraging effort and she should come on from the run. DOVE MEWS was our last runner and she did  not seem to handle the track and did not take the bend at all well. It would be great to get a win into her before the Horses in Training Sales as she is not lacking in ability.

On Thursday we headed up to Ayr with three runners the first of these being HORSERADISH. He ran a cracking introductory race after being slowly away and gave himself a bit to do following the tardy start but he finished strongly and came through to snatch second close to the line. He should come on from this and hopefully will go close next time. SYRIAN looked a little more settled but he still raced a bit to freely at the back of the field for my liking. He did stayed on over the last couple of furlongs, but he still looked green despite having his third start. He will definitely be one to follow for next year as he is a fine looking horse. Our last runner at the meeting was STEEL FREE and she put up a much better effort. She was never far away and seemed to have every chance. When asked to go she ran on nicely and was just touch off for third. It was a pleasing effort and hopefully she will win again before the end of the season. In the evening we sent two runners to Wolverhampton, the first of these being HERECOMETHEGIRLS. She did not seem to find her form here and is now eligible for a handicap mark where hopefully she will be competitive. FOOLIN MYSELF raced up in front and led pulling on the bit over three furlongs out. He was shaken up and headed over one furlong out and weakened inside the final furlong. He appeared to be slightly wound up and got himself on his toes beforehand which did not help his chances at all.

Today we have seen a much better effort from CONSIDER YOURSELF down here at Newmarket. She was held up towards the rear and when asked for effort with two left to run just weakened inside the final furlong. She is such a lovely looking filly who still looks incredibly weak for her frame. She will be a nice prospect for next year and will benefit from the long trotting exercise that the horses do in January to strengthen up. We have just seen WIGMORE HALL win in very smart fashion. He was given a lovely ride by Jamie who had him nicely settled and when asked to go he went a long way clear and the win never looked in any doubt. He looks to be a ver nice exciting prospect. Our only other runner at this afternoon's meetings was MIDWESTERN who had travelled to Newbury for the six furlong maiden. He chased the leaders and was asked for effort inside the final two furlongs weakening inside the final furlong to finish sixth. He looks as though he will benefit from more time, but it was an encouraging debut. Our last runner is this evening when THOMAS BAINES tries to win again after his victory last week.

WEDNESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER

We have had a quite a good day so far with the horses running well and already one winner.

At Yarmouth MONT AGEL ran quite green early on and was settled towards the rear of the field. He seemed to take a while to get going and then finished like a train to get third. He looks a nice horse and we are pleased with this effort. Later on the card NIGHT KNIGHT who was given a really good, strong Jamie Spencer ride managed to keep his head in front in the selling race. It was a good run and Jamie seems to get on really well with this horse. He was not sold and is due to return to the yard this evening. At Beverley we have just seen CRUNCHED sadly fail to get up. He was always kept handy throughout the race but could not make no impression to trouble the winner and was caught on the line for second place and had to settle for third. He is a nice horse who is now eligible for a handicap mark and could be nice for next season. We have three runners left this evening at Kempton now.

Our runners for Thursday are at Ayr when we introduce a nice two-year-old called HORSERADISH. We feel he will do himself justice but he is certainly going to improve for the experience. Also we have the nice two year old SYRIAN running and hopefully he will get the cover he was lacking last time out and will settle much better. He is a nice horse and we expect a big run. Our final runner at Ayr is STEEL FREE and she has not showed the promise after her win that we had expected. She is a really nice filly who has plenty of ability and hopefully the scottish air will bring a change of fortune.  In the evening at Wolverhampton, we are looking forward to the re-appearance of FOOLIN MYSELF who was an impressive winner on the all weather last time. He has been in good form after his victory and he is a horse that we like allot. Also running is HERECOMETHEGIRLS and she seems to be improving with her runs She is quite backward still but has ability and is capable of winning races.

On Friday we have declared another newcomer called MIDWESTERN to the track. He is going to be a nice horse with time but is ready for a run and will certainly improve for it. CONSIDER YOURSELF is hoping to show marked improvement from her first run and I think you will see a different filly here. She looks to have come on from-- the run and I am sure she is a nice filly in the making. WIGMORE HALL is another who looks to have come on a massive amount since his racecourse debut. I know Jamie Spencer likes the horse and so do we and I expect a big run from him here. Our final runner on Friday is THOMAS BAINES who is looking to build on his victory on the all weather last week and is hoping to score again here.

Due to the dry weather the horse again worked up the watered gallop

MIDWESTERN AND GRAMERCY

MIDWESTERN looked good in his work ahead of his run at Newbury on Friday and he partnered GRAMERCY who continues to please.

BINTHERE DUNTHAT AND THELADYISATRAMP

BINTHERE DUNTHAT looked good in her work and is certainly going the right way. She partnered THELADYISATRAMP who looks to have improved for her run.

MISS EZE, PIQUANTE AND GASSIN

MISS EZE looks to be coming back to herself and she worked well with PIQUANTE who is getting quite frustrating to place as the jockeys all come back in after her races and give different opinions on her and GASSIN looked in good form a head of his possible run on Saturday at Wolverhampton.

MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE AND BALLANTRAE

MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE looked in fantastic form in her work ahead of her trip to America where she is due run in the Flower Bowl on the 3rd October. She heads to New York next week and hopefully she should have a big chance. BALLANTRAE continues to please and hopefully another win will be on the cards for her before the end of the season.

HIGHLAND LEGACY

Our last worker was HIGHLAND LEGACY and he looks in fantastic form and is ready for a run.

TUESDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER

I have been away over the weekend so the website sadly has not been updated but thankfully things have been very quiet so we do not have much to update you on.

Friday saw us get to the 36 winner mark when THOMAS BAINES went in at Wolverhampton. Hayley gave him a lovely ride and had him held up in rear. He was pushed along and made good headway over a furlong out to lead inside final furlong and ran on well to gain his first victory after some promising efforts early on in his career. He has gone up six for his win but hopefully we may be able to get another victory out of him before the Horses in Training Sales. Earlier in the day we had seen LADY ARTEMISIA finish second at Doncaster. She tracked the leaders and she did not get a clear run over two furlongs out. She was switched one furlong out and was ridden and stayed on strongly inside final furlong, but could not reach winner.

Today we have just had the one runner at Yarmouth where PROFESSOR JOHN ran in the Nursery. He was held up towards the rear and when asked to make his effort entering the final two furlongs he made no progress and was well beaten over a furlong out.

The rest of the week look really busy and tomorrow we have good chances at Beverly where CRUNCHED runs. He has given some promising efforts and is certainly due a win as he is really heading in the right direction. Hopefully he will go close here. At Kempton we have three runners, the first of these being WILD ROSE and BELLE ZORRO. WILD ROSE looks to have come on a great deal from her her first outing at Chepstow and could go close here. BELLE ZORRO is owned by a young group of people who very kindly bided for her in a charity auction for Leukemia and hopefully she can give them plenty of fun whilst they own her. She is a sweet little filly who will definitely improve for the run but should give a good account of herself here if her homework is anything to go by. Also on the card is DOVE MEWS in the claimed and hopefully she should be good enough to go close here. At Yarmouth we have two runners and one of these we are hopeful of turning into a decent two-year-old. He is called MONT AGEL an he has looked good in his work at home. Although still slightly green I am sure he will show promise here. Also on the card we have NIGHT KNIGHT who has been dropped into selling class and hopefully he can put his best foot forward hear and find his winning formula.

WEDNESDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER

We had one runner yesterday at Lingfield when GREEK KEY took his chance in nursery company for the first time. He was set a light as soon as he left the stalls by Hayley Turner and raced very keenly and on the wide outside early on. he was driven approaching the final furlong and stayed on at the one pace. We think this run is best left forgot ton, but he did show plenty of speed which may suggest he would be okay over six furlongs.

Today we have seen an improved effort from FARMER GILES who was being tried over seven furlongs for the first time. He reared slightly at the start and was slowly into his stride. When asked to go he hit the from a bit sooner than we would have liked and was soon headed. It was an encouraging effort from him and hopefully we can find a suitable opportunity for him before the Horses in Training Sales. Our only other runner today has been HALFWAY HOUSE at Epsom and at one stage I thought he may just win. He was settled towards the rear of the field and was asked to make his effort three furlongs from home. He stayed close to the leaders from two furlongs out and looked one pace inside the final furlong. He is another who has been penciled in for a Horses in Training Sales entry and hopefully we can get another win out of him before he takes up this engagement.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to the running of TACTICIAN at Doncaster. He looks a nice colt in his work at home and we are hopeful of a big run from him. He is a colt who we feel certainly has a future and will be a nice horse for next year. Also running is L'ENCHANTERESSE at Epsom and it would be great to see this filly get her head in front. Hopefully she will not find the ground to firm at Epsom for her liking.

On Friday we have declared LADY ARTEMISIA to run at Doncaster and we are hoping that she will not find the ground to firm to give her best effort. She has been in great form at home and this race certainly looks to ideal for her. Also on Friday we have declared THOMAS BAINES at Wolverhampton and in this six runner field hopefully he can show the promise he showed early on in his career and get of the mark. He has been in good form so fingers crossed.

Due to this hot weather that is around at present the horses again had to work up the watered gallop.

REDFORD AND GREAT CHARM

REDFORD looked in fantastic form ahead of his run in the Ayr Gold Cup and worked really well. GREAT CHARM also went nicely joining REDFORD when he passed me and joined the rising ground.

MONT AGEL, HORSERADISH, WIGMORE HALL AND MIDWESTERN

This group worked really well and all look ready for runs. MONT AGEL is a really nice colt by Danehill Dancer and he was joined  by HORSERADISH who is improving every time I see him work. WIGMORE HALL has come on significantly from his run and MIDWESTERN was settled nicely in behind these three.

CRUNCHED, GRAMERCY AND MOUNTAIN QUEST

CRUNCHED worked really nicely here and is one to keep and eye out for. He worked with two un raced two year olds, a really nice colt by Whipper called GRAMERCY and a quality looking horse by Hernando called MOUNTAIN QUEST. Both are going the right way and if this continues they could hopefully run later in the month

WILD ROSE, THELADYISATRAMP, MADAME ROULIN AND HYPNOLOGY

WILD ROSE looks to have come on a lot from her run at Chepstow  and she went nicely leading THELADYISATRAMP who seems to be improving with her work. MADAME ROULIN was sat in behind upsides HYPNOLOGY and both these two horses look to be quality fillies in the making.

SARISKA AND BALLANTRAE

It was great to see SARISKA back on the gallops in preparation for her run at the Arc meeting and she worked really well under Jamie Spencer. She was partnered on the gallops with BALLANTRAE who is starting to come to hand nicely.

MONDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER

It was a busy weekend for the Fitzroy team with runners at home and abroad. At Haydock we were armed with four runners, with the first of these being MOYENNE CORNICHE. He seemed to race quite keenly early on and when asked to quicken he stayed on at the one pace to grab fourth. It was a much better effort and hopefully things are starting to come right for him. HIGHLAND LEGACY was our next participant and equipped with a first-time visor, was making just his second appearance of the season and he looked as though he could come on again for the run. He was held up and made his move from two furlongs out and was one paced inside the final furlong. It is great to have him back on the track and hopefully these two runs have now put him right. ART CONNOISSEUR raced very keen and due to this looked beaten from halfway. He is a class animal and it would be great to find a race for him at Ascot where he seems to love the track, but he is always better being raced of the pace with some cover which he did not get here. Our last runner was SYRIAN and he was another who failed to settle and this spoilt his chances of staying the longer trip by refusing to stop pulling and ended up taking the lead through the early part of the race. He had no more to offer from two furlongs out which is frustrating as when he won at Yarmouth he looked like a class animal and we believe he is. He is certainly entitled to another chance and as long as he can get some cover I think you will see a different horse next time.

At Leopardstown we had ALLIED POWERS making a quick re-appearance after his third at Galway last Monday. He again gave his all but found Poet to good for him and had to settle for second. He looked in trouble after the first part of the race, but stayed on well in the second half, but never looked like troubling the winner. He is such a genuine horse and hopefully we will be able to freshen him up, and get another victory out of him before the end of the season.

On Sunday we had the luxury of using the Darley plane to fly SECRET SOCIETY to Longchamp for the Group 3 Prix du Pin. Applied with a visor for the first time, he raced towards the rear of the field and was then asked to make his move with two left to run. Sadly he could not quicken with the others and stayed on to finish sixth. He has arrived home safely and we will see how he is before making further plans for him.

We have no runners today, but tomorrow we are hopeful of a good run from GREEK KEY at Lingfield. He ran well first time out and then got bogged down in the ground at Leicester. He has been putting in some nice pieces of work at home so we are very hopeful of a good account.

On Wednesday we have declared FARMER GILES, trying seven furlongs for the first time. He looked to settle really nicely in his work at home and seemed to appreciate the longer distance. Hopefully Tom Queally will be able to get him nicely settled and he will give a good performance. He certainly appears to have talent. Also on Tuesday we are hoping that HALFWAY HOUSE will bounce back from his disappointing run at Salisbury and will give a much better effort here.

FRIDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER

We had a busy day yesterday with three runners at various meetings. Our First runner of the days was STEEL FREE and she did not perform as well as we had expected. She appeared to take a keen hold and was held up in fourth. She was ridden over two furlongs out and made no progress and was well beaten over one furlong out. It was frustrating as the race looked taylor made for her. Our next runner was THE BETCHWORTH KID who was given an a real quality ride by Hayley. He was an unlucky seventh in the Ebor. He was settled towards the rear of the field and when first moving into contention on the outside entering the last three furlongs he started to hang and didn't´t appear to be finding to much. As soon as he was switched left in order to make his effort between horses he became more interested and put in a sustained effort to snatch the race by the narrowest of margins. He seemed to appreciate the easing ground here and will now either go for the Prix du Cadran or the Fenwolf Stakes and then be given a break before joining Alan King for a hurdling campaign. We shall really miss him when he goes. Our last runner of the day was BRAE HILL who was running in the evening at Wolverhampton. He was held up from what was a bad draw and he with two furlongs left to run he seemed to just fade. He is much better than this run suggests and hopefully he will show a much better effort next time.

Today we have seen a really nice winner in MR MAHOGANEIGH who we were lucky enough to get when he left Stuart Williams yard. He looked to know his job really well and won very nicely. It is great for his owners Mr & Mrs Bone who also bred him. He looks as though he will come on allot from the run and could be a nice horse. RED HORSE did not run as well as expected and Hayley felt he did not seem to handle the kick back from the track. He was soon ridden and looked unable to quicken over three furlongs out and then weakened well over 1f out.

We have declared four runners at Haydock tomorrow, the first of these being MOYENNE CORNICHE who will appreciate to conditions at Haydock. He has been in good form and he worked nicely on Wednesday with FOUR WINDS. It is great to see HIGHLAND LEGACY back on the track and he will wear a visor when he runs. He looked to be moving nicely up the Watered Gallop on Wednesday and we think he will run well. ART CONNOISSEUR will hopefully show himself back to his best. He was very unlucky last time when the saddle slipped and he has proved he is in this class and we expect his to go close. Our last runner at the meeting is SYRIAN who looked a really nice two-year-old when winning his maiden. He is upped in class here, but we feel that this is the type of company he should be running in. Our last runner of the day is at Leopardstown, where hopefully ALLIED POWERS can bounce back from his third at Galway where he hit the front to soon. He will have the bonus of Jimmy Fortune riding him here so hopefully he can carry on what has been a lucky meeting for us at the track as we have had runners at the meeting for the last four years and RED EVIE won the Matron Stakes at the track.

On Sunday we have SECRET SOCIETY running in the Prix du Pin a Group 3 at Longchamp. He has been declared wearing a visor to help keep his concentration and he should give a very good account of himself. He will fly from Cambridge Airport and is due to fly back on Monday after he has run.

WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER

Well with no runners yesterday we returned to the action today with PROFESSOR JOHN running at Lingfield. He was settled towards the rear of the field and when asked to go he seemed to take an age to get going and run a bit flat finishing sixth. He certainly did not run up to the form he showed in his Chester race last time and may benefit from a bit further.

Tomorrow we have three runners all at different meetings. The first of these to run is STEEL FREE who we are hoping will show the potential we believe she has. She would appreciate some rain which is forecast and as long as Epsom gets this she should have a good chance. Later in the day we are hoping THE BETCHWORTH KID who is in flying form at present can finally get his head in front in the conditions race which is the last on the card. It looks a tough little contest and our horse is in good form and so we expect him to go close. Our last runner of the day is at Wolverhampton's evening meeting when BRAE HILL will have to overcome a bad draw if he is to have any chance. He is a decent little horse and hopefully he will give a good account of himself.

On Friday we have declared MR MAHOGANEIGH to run at Lingfield. He is a nice Mark of Esteem colt that came to us recently and belongs to Mr & Mrs Bone who had INK SPOT and PRESS EXPRESS with us. He has been pleasing the boss in his work at home and we expect him to give a pleasing effort. Later on the card we have finally managed to get RED HORSE into a race after being balloted out a couple. He was unlucky in running at Brighton last time and we are hoping he is better than what is handicap mark perhaps suggests he is.

Today the horses worked on the Watered Gallop

HORSERADISH and FARMER GILES

HORSERADISH is really coming to hand nicely and he worked well with FARMER GILES who looked to be nicely settled in his work.

BABYCAKES AND MADAME ROULIN

BABYCAKES and MADAME ROULIN look to be back in good form and they worked nicely together coming back the straight six and half furlongs. Both have moved back into fast work and are not far now from making racecourse debuts later in the month.

HYPNOLOGY AND PALMDALE

HYPNOLOGY looks a class filly in her work and she really caught the eye as did PALMDALE who looks to also have the makings of a nice filly.

HIGHLAND LEGACY

HIGHLAND LEGACY looked in great form wearing the visor for the first time and he skipped along over the straight mile and looked to really loving the soft ground. He is entered at the weekend at Haydock and we will see what the weather does before deciding if he will take his chance

FOUR WINDS AND MOYENNE CORNICHE

FOUR WINDS looked is fantastic form and worked very nicely with MOYENNE CORNICHE who could possibly run at Haydock on Saturday.
