FRIDAY 30TH OCTOBER

MOUNTAIN QUEST did not run as well as we had hoped at Nottingham on Wednesday. He again ran very green and was soon pushed along to be kept up to his work. He made some headway with three furlongs left to run and the weakened inside the final furlong. He is still a big baby and has a lot to learn but we certainly believe he holds ability and hopefully he will be a nice horse next year.

Yesterday we had two runners at Lingfield with the first of these being HYPNOTIZED. He again gave another promising effort finishing fifth. He raced slightly green in the middle part of the race and had to be kept about his work and although he looked as though he was never going to trouble the winner he stayed on nicely in the later stages of the race. Our only other runner was FAITED TO PRETEND and she was slowly away and was settled towards the rear of the field. She made good headway over the last couple of furlongs in the race and was running on nice and encouragingly coming inside the final furlong. She is a sweet little filly and hopefully she will win races.

Today we have seen TELL HALAF run at Newmarket and he ran well for the early part of the race. He is still very burly and raced quite keenly for the early part of the race. He got tired approaching the last couple of furlongs and dropped away.

Tonight we have good chances at Wolverhampton where we are hoping LOCHAN MOR can go one better. He is a consistent little horse and certainly deserves to win a race which will hopefully be tonight. JUICY PEAR has a good chance if he shows normal improvement from his third last time at wolverhampton and on the form he has the horse of William Haggas's to beat. Our last runner is MISS EZE and she will hopefully be able to give account of herself in this grade. She is due to go to the December Sales so if she can only show the form she showed at the beginning of the year that would give her a good chance.

Tomorrow we have declared a nice two-year-old filly called ACQUAINTED at Newmarket. She has been in good form at home and hopefully she will show some promise here. WILD ROSE has been stepped up in class to run in the Listed Montrose Stakes. She come into the race having won her last two and hopefully she will be able to show the promise we feel she holds here. Our last runner at Newmarket is REGENERATION who we acquired from Simon Callaghan's yard. He has settled in well since he arrived and his connections and there family will be at the track in force so it would be great to see him run well. Later in the evening we have CRUNCHED and GREAT CHARM running at Wolverhampton. Hopefully CRUNCHED can get his head in front after some promising efforts but he has Mick Cannon's horse being the one to beat. GREAT CHARM who was not sold at the Horses in Training Sales gets back to the action pretty quickly and has a good chance in the six furlong handicap.

On Sunday we are hoping to get a win out of MOYENNE CORNICHE. he has had to wait so long for his ground and he ran really well at Saint-Cloud last time when finishing second. He can hopefully go one better here being dropped back to a mile, but it looks a tough race but no more than you would expect for a Group 3. He has good form of late and hopefully Sunday will be his day!

TUESDAY 27TH OCTOBER

Well things have really started to go quiet and the horses have started leaving for winter breaks. SARISKA returned to her home at Lady Bamford's Daylesford Stud on Monday after a very successful season. She has been turned out in a small pen and has already started enjoying being let down. She is due to be turned out in the next few days in a larger paddock with a mate.

Yesterday we lost thirteen horses to the Horses in Training Sales with the best of these selling being REDFORD who topped the sales making £130,000. The only member of our draft to return back to us is GREAT CHARM who did not make his reserve. I went up to watch them sale which is always really sad and they all looked really well and hopefully they will give new connections plenty of fun as they start new careers with new owners.

We have no runners today, but we do get back to the action tomorrow when MOUNTAIN QUEST runs at Nottingham. He has been in good form since his fifth at Redcar where he raced quite green. He seems to have improved from the run and we expect him to run well here.

On Thursday we have declared HYPNOTIZED at Lingfield and a nice Kheleyf filly called FAITED TO PRETEND. HYPNOTIZED has been in good form since his fifth at Leicester and hopefully he will build on this first performance here. He is an improving horse and hopefully he can go close here. FAITED TO PRETEND has not been in that long after starting her career with Simon Callaghan at Rathmoy Stables. She certainly knew her job when she arrived and has not really taken that long to get ready. She is a nice filly and hopefully will show some potential here.

FRIDAY 23RD OCTOBER

We have already watched two of our runners run so far this afternoon. The first of these being BABYCAKES at Doncaster. She tracked the leaders and was running really well for the majority of the race. She looked as though she got tired and weakened with two furlongs left to run. She has grown so much and is always one for next year but it is great to get her on the track and get some racecourse education into her. I thought FARMER GILES would run much better but could only manage 12th position. He sadly failed to settle which was the important thing and although he looked as though he was running on he did not find enough to mount a challenge.

We have GASSIN left to run tonight and hopefully he will run a good race.

Tomorrow we have LA ADELITA hitting the track after a long lay off. She has been doing some nice pieces of work and she certainly posses ability. She will definitely need the run but hopefully she will give a good account of herself. Also running in the evening at kempton we have RED HORSE and we are hoping that he can finally get his head in front before the sales. He is in good form at home and he definitely holds some ability.

Yesterday we got the two Ad Valorem fillies in and they have both settled in well. Sadly I could not get a decent picture of the Ad valorem Ex Royal Mistress but I will try and get this taken again on Monday. I did get a really nice picture of the Ad Valorem Ex Salagama and she is a really sweet little filly. She is currently available for sale on a first come first served basis. She cost the bargain price of 6000 guineas and you can view her pedigree on our horses for sale page.

AD VALOREM EX SALAGAMA

WEDNESDAY 21ST OCTOBER

Yesterday we headed to Yarmouth with the three runners and the best of these to run was MIDWESTERN. He was quite slowly away  and made some steady progress over two furlongs out. When asked to go he kept on steadily to press for 3rd towards the finish but never troubled the leaders. He looked as though he took a while to get going, but looked much happier on the firmer surface. TWIGHLIGHT TEAR and CARDOSSI both ran very and green and sadly did not show much promise at all. CARDOSSI has returned back to Mr Gredley's stud and I am not really sure of immediate plans for her at present. TWIGHLIGHT TEAR likewise is due to return home and again I am not sure what the future holds for her.

OLD MASTER EXPERT (Royal Applause Ex Leonica)

We have no runners today but ALLIED POWERS is due to come back to Fitzroy this evening. He landed in Amsterdam this morning and after being cleared by customs he is due to travel down with Mick Channons who are very kindly giving us a lift to Calais where he will then cross to Dover and our box is collecting him when the ferry docks at the port. He was due to be back late afternoon but has been delayed and will now get back into Newmarket about 11.00pm this evening.

ORATORIO EX SILVER PURSUIT

Tomorrow we have good chances at Brighton with LOCHAN MOR and ACTIVATE. LOCHAN MOR has been waiting for the ground for most of the year and now it has finally arrived he should relish the race conditions at the course. ACTIVATE is a nice two-year-old who we like a lot. He has been working well at home and hopefully he will not disappoint. Our only other runner is PIQUANTE and it would be great to see her win but it has baffled us all year that she is still a maiden.

PIVOTAL EX HIDDEN HOPE

With the season coming to an end shortly a lot of the horses are now returning home for well deserved breaks. We have declared three for Friday when we are hopeful FARMER GILES can get his head in front. It has been a frustrating season for both the horse and his owners as he won his maiden really well and it was felt that he was a five to six furlong animal. We have since discovered that we feel that he is better suited to the mile and after two decent efforts over this trip it would be great to see him win again at Doncaster. Also running at the meeting is a really nice filly by Marju out of Dark Rosaleen called BABYCAKES. We like this filly a lot and she had been doing some nice pieces of work and then went really backward on us and had a real growing spurt. She looks to be again going nicely and we are hopeful she will run well here. Our last runner at Doncaster is STEEL FREE in the apprentice race and hopefully she can provide Malin Holmberg with her first racecourse victory. At Wolverhampton GASSIN surprised us by getting a run in his race and after running well on his last two starts we hope that wearing the visor has been a change to his fortunes and he can go on and run well here. He certainly holds ability and hopefully another good display will enhance his value at the sales next week.

HALLING EX VELVET WATERS

The yearlings have arrived in and had the first lunge and lead out today. We have four in at present and we are due to get another two fillies by Ad Valorem in tomorrow. So far we have a really nice colt by Royal Applause Ex Leonica and he has already been named OLD MASTER EXPERT. He is owned by Mr Richard Green along with the boss. We used to train Leonica and she was a filly who had ability and won her maiden at Warwick. She is already the dam of one winner so hopefully he will turn out to be okay. Also coming in yesterday was a nice colt by Oratorio Ex Silver Pursuit and he was offered for sale at Tattersalls last week. He looks to be a nice strong yearling and he has taken everything really well so far. Another that looks to be a strong compact colt is the Pivotal ex Hidden Hope and again he has settled in well since his arrival. The final one of the four is by Halling Ex Velvet Waters and like the others, he looks to be a well mannered individual.

MONDAY 19TH OCTOBER

We have to go back to Thursday since we last updated the website and we had hoped for a big run from DR FINLEY at Brighton. He led early on and set a moderate pace. He was headed well over one furlong out and was hard ridden but kept on at the one pace. He has taken the race well and he is being retained for next season, so hopefully he will be a nice prospect. At Nottingham it was great to see HORSERADISH finally get his head in front after two previous seconds. He was given a lovely ride by Kieran Fallon and the victory never really looked in any doubt. He is now due to be gelded and then at least he can be turned out over the winter months and come back in much fresher next year. Mrs Rowland-Clark who owns him usually has them turned out near her home at Jo Winter's yard and so they always come in having been spoilt with polo's and carrots. Jo Winter does a great job and they always return back to us looking in great order.

On Friday it was great to see a good promising effort from MOUTAIN QUEST who ran fourth at Redcar. Hayley really deserved her riding fee as he was very green early on and she had to keep chasing him up to keep his mind on the job. It was a really encouraging effort and Mr Pearce now heads into the winter with two really nice colts in his ownership with MONT AGEL and MOUNTAIN QUEST. Also running at Redcar was LENCHANTERESSE who sadly could only manage another third after some promising efforts early on. She has only run the one bad race and goes into the sales with some very consistent efforts so hopefully she will make a decent price at the sales. Our only other runner on Friday was FOOLIN MYSELF and after being kept up with the pace for a long way he dropped away and never troubled. He has now gone home to his owner Mr Gredley's stud and a decision will be made on his future. He may head to Dubai where he should like the surface having previously won on the Southwell surface.

On Saturday we were all really nervous about SARISKA returning to the racecourse. She was very slowly away and was settled towards the rear of the field. She made her way through the field and when Kieran brought her on the outside to make her challenge she came with a brilliant run but sadly the line came to soon and she had to settle for third. She is such an amazing filly and to finish like she did on ground that would not have been ideal for her and over two furlongs shorter than her best trip she really did run a cracking race. She has taken the race well and we are so lucky that she is coming back to us next season.

In Canada we had ALLIED POWERS taking his chance in the Canadian International. Sadly he did not mange to win the big purse of prize money, but he did win a little. The Canadian Jockey Club were so immensely kind to Gill and Mrs Bell and went out of the way to help and everything was so well organized. Mrs Bell and Gill both had a wonderful time and big thank you goes to everyone who has made it such an enjoyable trip for them both.

On Sunday we had just the one runner when GREAT CHARM ran at Southwell. He took a keen hold, tracked leaders and was asked for effort over two furlongs out, but kept on at the same pace and finished third. It was a good effort and will hopefully ensure a good sale at the Horses in Training Sales. He has been desperately unlucky this year as he has never ever really got his ground.

Today we have seen GREEK KEY finish a little disappointingly at Windsor but he has never really been given a chance by the handicapper and this was proved again today. I am not sure if we will get another run into him before he heads to Tattersalls.

Tomorrow we have four runners at Yarmouth. CARDOSSI is a sweet little filly who has been working nicely at home. She was quite backwards when she arrived in but hopefully she will give a good account of herself here. In the earlier division we have another nice filly called TWIGHLIGHT TEAR who is by Rock of Gibraltar running. She has improved a lot since she arrived in and although still a little on the weak side we are hopeful of a good account. MIDWESTERN was slightly disappointing last time at Nottingham but he got slightly stuck in the mud. He should be more suited by conditions here and hopefully he will run well. Our final runner is DOVE MEWS and hopefully she can go into the sales on a good result. She may find conditions a bit fast but we are desperate to run her and hopefully it will pay off.

WEDNESDAY 14TH OCTOBER

We were pleased with the run yesterday from the newcomer HYPNOTIZED who finished fifth. He started slowly and due to greenness was soon pushed along at the rear. He made headway over two furlongs out and stayed on really well but could not reach the leaders. He will have learned so much from the run and will be a lot of sharper next time.

Tonight we have THELADYISATRAMP running at Kempton and we are hopeful that she will give a good account of herself. She has been dropped back to six furlong which will hopefully suit her better and in this class hopefully she will be competitive.

Tomorrow we have a good chance at Brighton where DR FINLEY is due to run. He has been in good form and I expect a good effort from him. Also tomorrow we have the unlucky Southwell loser HORSERADISH running and we are hoping he can get his head in front after two really decent efforts. We like this horse a lot and he a is a progressive individual.

On Friday we have declared FOOLIN MYSELF down here at Newmarket and hopefully Frankie who rides him will push the right buttons and get him back into winning ways. He got quite wound up last time so hopefully he will handle things better here. Also running we have a nice newcomer to the track at Redcar called MOUNTAIN QUEST and he is certain to shape up into a nice horse for next season. We expect him to run well here as he has been working well at home and we like him a lot. Tomorrow will hopefully see L'ENCHANTERESSE finally get her head in front after some promising efforts. Dropped back to six furlong which is what Kieran Fallon felt she needed after her last run at Newmarket over seven should be more to her liking. She has ability and hopefully she will use it here before she heads for the Horses in Training Sales.

Sadly we only had a couple of workers and they worked much later than usual. SARISKA was doing her final piece of work before her possible participation in the Champion Stakes and she went very nicely. The boss was really pleased with how she worked up the Al Bahatri and now hopefully the ground will be suitable to enable her to take her chance. It will be a nervous day on Saturday but hopefully she will bounce back to her best. She is not the only big race runner we have as ALLIED POWERS headed out to Canada last weekend to run in the Canadian International. Our travelling head girl Gilly is the envy of most at present as she has just had a week in New York with MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE and know she has a fortnight in Canada with ALLIED POWERS. I am sure that the whole yard would have given anything to go and the Canadian Jockey Club have been so kind putting the lads up in a lovely hotel and organizing trips for the staff to go on. Yesterday they went to Niagara Falls which must have been amazing and they have more trips lined up for the rest of the week. Mrs Bell is due to go out tomorrow and the horse races on Saturday. It would be so great if he runs a big race, as both his lovely owners along with their families are heading to Canada to watch him run and what a great weekend it would be.

 MONDAY 12TH OCTOBER

On Thursday we had three runners and we were slightly disappointed with TACTICIAN who was second first time out to Coordinated who looks to be a nice horse. He was not dealt the best of draws and also did not enjoy the clearest of runs. He seemed to be lacking in early speed and he made modest late progress. He looks as though he is going to get a lot further next season and we think he is a nice horse. HERECOMETHEGIRLS has now had her fourth run and hopefully this will now enable her to be given a handicap mark. She was not given one after her third run as the handicapper deemed that run not suitable for her to be given a mark. She has again run to a modest level and the only thing that she has now got is increased travelling expenses to the races for her owner. Our only other runner at Wolverhampton was HALFWAY HOUSE and he run a good race finishing third. He was steadied after the start and was held up at the rear. He was ridden over one furlong out and ran on to go third inside the final 100yds, but never threatened the leading pair. He will now head to the Horses in Training Sales where he will be a nice prospect to buy.

On Friday we had a a runner at Saint Cloud when MOYENNE CORNICHE took his chance in the listed race at the track. He broke well and then was restrained in midfield on inside in about sixth place. He was ridden to take third, two and half furlongs left to run and stayed on to dispute the lead briefly but sadly had to settle for second. He has returned from France in good form and is in the Horses in Training Sales. BELLE ZORRO was our only runner at Lingfield and she showed little improvement and seemed to struggle to go the early pace. She is now eligible for a handicap mark and we will see how the handicapper assesses her before making further plans. In the evening we had a good run from a newcomer JUICY PEAR who was held up in rear and made good headway on the inside inside well over 1f out. He was soon pushed along and kept on to take 3rd near finish. It was a very encouraging effort and he is certain to come on from the run. Our only other runner at this meeting was GREAT CHARM and he completely missed the break which is unforgivable over six furlongs and his race was over all to soon.

On Saturday we had two runners and poor WIGMORE HALL had to run with both shoes missing in his race after losing them early on. He trailed trailed in fifth. and we know he is better than this and so this run is best left forgotten. PROMPTER ran a really good race to finish second at Ascot in the Group 3 Autumn Stakes. He found the ground too quick in the Solario last time and ran a lot little better under these vastly different conditions. He should make a nice three year old and is one to look forward to next year.

On Sunday we had PROFESSOR JOHN running at Goodwood and he seems to have lost his way slightly. He has been given no help by the handicapper and hopefully he will mature and develop over the winter and find his form again. GASSIN headed to Lingfield and he looked to be travelling well turning into the straight. He tracked the leaders and was ridden to press the leading pair entering final furlong, but could not quicken under pressure inside final furlong and had to settle for third.

Today we have seen a disappointing run from MADAME ROULIN who took a keen hold early on and raced in mid-division. She looked to be under pressure when asked to go and weakened inside final furlong. We know she is a nice filly and it may just be that she is still on the weak side. I certainly think that she will be one to follow next season once she has strengthened. SHARP AND CHIC looked to be unsuited possibly by the softer ground and she raced in the middle of the field and when asked to go with two left to run looked flat footed. Our last runner today was MISS EZE and she was held up towards rear, ridden and made steady progress two furlongs out but made no further impression inside final furlong. It is such a shame that this filly has not built on her first run of the season and has been disappointing as she has ability.

Tomorrow we introduce a nice newcommer called HYPNOTIZED. He has not been in that long and he has been pleasing in his work at home. Hopefully he will give a good account of himself and show some promise.

THURSDAY 8TH OCTOBER

Sadly the horses worked yesterday morning and due to the weather and the fact that the horses pulled out much earlier meant it was impossible to take pictures without a flash so sadly no pictures were taken which is slightly frustrating as Kieran Fallon came in to ride SARISKA. She went nicely and he seemed pleased with her although she is quite lazy in her work and he was sitting on her for the first time.

After declaring DOVE MEWS a non runner then SYRIAN we were left with just the one runner on Tuedsay at Leicester which was RED HORSE. He raced in mid-division and was ridden over two furlongs out. He stayed on under pressure from over one furlong out but did not trouble the leaders.

Yesterday we had two runners at Nottingham. MIDWESTERN did not run as well as expected and he did not seem to handle the softer ground. He ran on a much firmer surface last time at Newbury and I am sure on the firmer surface he would have given a much better show. LADY ARTEMISIA looked to be showing the signs of a long season and although still running well it was probably one race too many for her. She will go home now for a rest and we are very lucky that she will coming back to us for next season where she will hopefully be a stronger more mature filly.

Today we have runners at Newbury where we see the re-appearance of the nice horse belonging to her Majesty the Queen. He is called TACTICIAN and he ran well when making his debut at Doncaster in Saeptember He is a very nice athletic two-year-old and we expect a good account from him here. At Kempton this evening we have HERECOMETHEGIRLS running and she seems to be improving ever so slightly with every run. She is still on the weak side but will hopefully do herself justice. Later on the card we have HALFWAY HOUSE running after being re-routed from Windsor on Monday due to the soft ground. He should have an excellent chance judging by his form and hopefully he will give another good show which should enhance his value at the Horses in Training Sales at the end of the month.

Tomorrow we have BELLE ZORRO heading to to Lingfield and hopefully she will gibe a good account of herself. She has been improving with each run and hopefully she will do herself justice here. At Wolverhampton we introduce to the track a nice newcomer called JUICY PEAR. He has been pleasing in his work at home and it is great to finally get him on the track. Also later on the card GREAT CHARM should have a good chance in the six furlong handicap. He has been flying in his work at home and we expect a good run. Our last runner tomorrow is MOYENNE CORNICHE who runs in Saint-Cloud and with the ground in his favor he should go close.

MONDAY 5TH OCTOBER

Well we have just seen MONT AGEL win in fantastic style. He looked as though he has learned a lot from his first outing where he was third. He was settled nicely and when Jamie pushed the button the win never looked in any doubt. He is developing into a nice individual and is going to be a very nice horse for next year. Later on the card at Windsor we have had to withdraw HALFAY HOUSE due to the change of ground which would not have suited him.

On Saturday I had really expected a better show from L'ENCHANTERESSE at Newmarket. Sadly the rain never arrived which would certainly have helped her chance but having been placed on all four starts she was stepped up in trip for this handicap debut. She was not far away early on but raced a little keen and dropped away from over a furlong out. She looks as though she is better suited by six furlongs and surely she can win a race before the sales. We did hit the 41 winner mark when WILD ROSE won at Wolverhampton. She looked to have her work cut out after a slow start but she stayed on really well once she finally got a clear run and won nicely. We like her a lot and hopefully she will be a nice filly for next year. GRAMERCY was another who was slow away from the gate and had to be checked when making his move turning in. Its hard to say if the hindrances cost him a winning chance, but he would most likely have been in the first three. He will certainly come on from the run and will have learned a lot from his racecourse debut. In the evening at Belmont Park we had MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE running and sadly in America they did get the rain which hindered her chances. She gave another good account of herself on a surface she would not have particularly liked to finish fourth.

Tomorrow we have three runners at Leicester with the first of these being SYRIAN who should have a good chance in a four runner field. The key is getting him to settle which hopefully Hayley will achieve and he get back into winning ways. Later on the card we have RED HORSE who is running in selling company. He is certainly better we think than selling company and hopefully a win will help boost his value at the forthcoming Horses in Training Sales. Our last runner of the day is DOVE MEWS and we know if they course gets rain she should have a good solid chance as she has been waiting for cut in the ground.

On Wednesday we are running LADY ARTEMISIA and MIDWESTERN at Nottingham. MIDWESTERN looks to have come on for his recent run at Newbury and we expect to see some improvement. LADY ARTEMISIA is another who has been waiting for the rain which is finally starting to come. She has been in good form in her work and hopefully will give a good account of herself here.

FRIDAY 2ND OCTOBER

Well sadly we have no runner in the Arc this year after a decision was made not to supplement SARISKA and looking at the weather forecast you have to agree that it was the correct decision. I only hope that the forecasters are right and that no rain arrives at Longchamp. It looks as though it is left to SEE THE STARS to shine now. We do have a big runner though at the weekend as we have MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE running in the Flower Bowl. She looks to have a good solid chance and it would be great to see her win again. She has settled in really well and has been eating and drinking. She has left her quarantine yard and was exercised today for the first time. She is such a sweetheart and hopefully she will give a good account of herself.

Today we have already had three runners at Lingfield the first of these being NIGHT KNIGHT. He tracked the leading trio and looked under pressure over three furlongs from home. He lost place over two furlongs out and rallied inside the final furlong at the one pace to take fourth. He is showing some improvement and hopefully he may be able to win again before the sales. Later on the card we introduce two, two year olds to the track in the same maiden. MADAME ROULIN looks a very nice filly in the making. She tracked the leaders and was asked for effort over two furlongs out and kept on one pace in final furlong. She looks a nice filly and we are hopeful she will come on allot from the race. SHARP AND CHIC dwelt at the start and was held up in last pair. She was pushed along over two furlongs out and finished in the middle of the field. She could possibly run again before the sales but we will see how she has taken the race before making further decisions with her.

On Wednesday evening we had just the one runner in ROYAL BET and he gain run free for the early part of the race which does not help his chances and he was staying on again inside the final furlong.

Yesterday it was good to see LOCHAN MOR put up a good effort at Wolverhampton. He was ridden to lead inside final furlong but sadly was headed to finish second. It was a great effort considering he has been off the track for 76 days and he will come on from this runs. Down here at Newmarket BAHAMIAN BABE did not show her form and finished down the field. She was being tried over six furlongs for the first time and looked as though she possibly did not stay.

We have GASSIN left to run today and he should have a very good chance being applied with the visor for the first time.

Tomorrow we have L'ENCHANTERESSE running down here at Newmarket and she has been doing some nice pieces of work in the lead up to this. She would certainly be helped if we were to get some rain but I think she will run well. At Wolverhampton we see the re-appearance of WILD ROSE who won last time. She has been in good form at home and we think she is a nice filly. Our last runner of the day is GRAMERCY and he is nice horse who has been working nicely at home. Although he still looks a bit green he will come on from the run and we expect him to improve for the race. We like him allot.
