FRIDAY 11TH DECEMBER

COMMUNICATOR

I am sorry the website has been so boring of late but things really have quietend down and not much is happening. Things will certainly pick up on Monday when we have our yards Christmas Party which is always entertaining. I shall be taking my camera so hopefully will get some good pictures of the festivities. We have a change of venue this year so hopefully it will as good fun as it usually is.

CREME ANGLAISE

SAKHEE EX TETRAVELLA

On Wednesday we were really excited about the prospect of SARISKA coming back into us and she arrived from Daylesford looking in fantastic condition. She had a month at grass and it was great that she spent time with Lady Bamford. Yesterday we had BIN END arrive back from Stratford Place Stud and he looked really well. He is is such a promising individual who has some really decent form and we hope that he will fulfill his potential. Also coming back with him was CONSIDER YOURSELF who looks to have really benefitted from her winter break. She looked in fantastic order and John Wall who runs Stratford Place Stud always does a magnificent job and they come back in looking a million dollars.

SHAMARDAL EX PAINTED MOON

PIVOTAL EX HIDDEN HOPE

FRIDAY 4TH DECEMBER

We have had a busy week on the arrival front this week and on Monday we had arriving in from Lordship Stud a sweet filly by Invincible Spirit Ex Blessing and she has now started being broken. She has taken everything really well so far and will hopefully be ridden in about a fortnights time.

HALLING EX VELVET WATERS

On Tuesday we had the arrival of FAR FROM OLD who has spent his career in France with John Hammond. He looks to real gentleman and it is nice to see these older horses being kept in training. On Wednesday we had a real quality yearling arrive from Coolmore Stud when the Galileo Ex Bridie came in from Ireland. She is a lovely filly and she has started being broken now.

VERGLAS EX UP AND ABOUT

Then today we have had three yearlings come in from Ireland belonging to Sheikh Marwan al Maktoum. They had a plane ride from Dublin and landed at Cambridge this afternoon. We have a Cape Cross Ex Red Conquest, a Bertolini Ex Heavenly Bay and a Singspiel Ex Local Spirit. All have had the prep work done at the studs and will probably be broken in about ten days time.

TWINKLED

On Tuesday we said goodbye to MISS EZE and RED ZOE who were both sold at the December Sales. MISS EZE made £48,000 and has gone to Rathbarry Stud in Ireland. Hopefully she will prove a big success as a broodmare here. RED ZOE was sold for £3,500 and also has gone to be a broodmare at stud I believe.

TUESDAY 1ST DECEMBER

CREME ANGLAISE

Thankfully we had a dry day today and it meant that I could get out and take some pictures of the yearling who were using the grass for the first time which usually means we have a loose one. Every horse behaved perfectly well and thankfully we had no casualties.

OLD MASTER EXPERT

Sadly later on after the horses had finished cantering and returned home as I was walking back to the car I met George Margarsson string and he was riding the lead horse. He was about to jump off when his horse bucked and reared up depositing him on the ground. Sadly I did not have my camera ready for this else I could have earned a fortune from Youve been Framed! Thankfully George was okay.

DUBAWI EX DUBAI SURPRISE

Tonight we sadly say goodbye to MISS EZE and RED ZOE who are due to go through the December Sales this evening. They are both nice fillies and hopefully they will find good homes.

HURRICANE RUN EX AMATHIA

The Six to Follow has now finished and it was won by Hayley and I have been told she was slightly helped by our assistant Tim Dennis when picking her horses. This is certainly what Tim is telling everyone anyway. In second was Kevin McEvoy who works in the yard and in third place was Mick Andrew's, Allied Powers grooms wife Jo McHugh. Thank you so much to everyone who took part. It was the most entries we had ever had for the second year running with the winner recieving £660.00, Second getting £330.00 and third getting £110.00. We really hope that everyone will take part next year and hopefully we will beat 110 entries!
