WEDNESDAY 2ND JUNE

It was an amazing day yesterday with a double at Yarmouth when COLLECT ART and MARGOT DID took us to the 24 winner mark. It was great to see MARGOT DID win again and the fashion in which she did it in was just fantastic. She will now head to Royal Ascot where she will run in the Albany on the Friday of the meeting. Later on the card at Yarmouth we were delighted to get another win out of COLLECT ART. We fitted him with a first-time visor to help him travel and he showed improved form to maintain his unbeaten record in handicaps and to prove his effectiveness on fast ground. He is entered again on Tuesday but at this stage we are not sure that he is going to get a run. Earlier in the day we were slightly unlucky with JUICY PEAR who was given a lovely ride by our apprentice Ian Burns, but could not get up to beat the winner. He was another who was wearing a visor for the first time and although he looked a bit keen he travelled well, but just could not get his head in front.

Today after the withdrawal of LOCHAN MOR at Ripon tonight, it left us with just the one runner today and that was at Nottingham with DR FINLEY who was being ridden by Ian Burns again who was having his third ride in three days. He was forced to sit on the outside of the field for the majority of the race and raced keenly as a result. He tried to get into the race passing the four pole, but could never manage to get to the leaders and finished fourth.

We have just the one runner tomorrow at Lingfield where RED AMY should have a good chance. We hope that we have now found the right race conditions for her and expect her to give a good account of herself. Also tomorrow we have SARISKA heading of with GRAMERCY to Epsom where she has been declared to run in the Coronation Cup. She has nine opponents to face which include the mighty Fame and Glory who also goes into the race on a win. its really exciting and hopefully our golden girl will give a good account of herself. GRAMERCY has been in good form after his run at Salisbury and hopefully he will have conditions more in his favour here. Also on Friday we have AL DAFA running who goes into the race off a win at Nottingham. He has been in great form since his win and we think he has the ability to be progressive.

Today the horses workd on the Peat Moss and it was a really foggy day and you could not see hardly anything.

FRECKENHAM, SWEETIE TIME AND INDIAN CHARLIE EX SISTER GIRL

It was great to see these three fillies work so nicely, especially as the INDIAN CHARLIE EX SISTER GIRL had her owner Saif Ali watching her. She is ready to run as soon as she is named and hopefully this time the name DANCING INDIAN will be registered after we had Indian war Dance rejected in America.

STAR SURPRISE

STAR SURPRISE is being brought to the boil and is near the entry stage.

CRY FOR JOY AND EMPRESS CHARLOTTE

CRY FOR JOY is heading the right way as is EMPRESS CHARLOTTE who went well joining her as they met the rising ground.

HISTORY REPEATING AND ROSA MIDNIGHT

These two fillies are coming along nicely and will probably need a bit more time, but they are heading in the righ direction and could be ready to run later in the month.

MADAME ROULIN AND BABYCAKES

MADAME ROULIN worked well here and she has been pencilled in for the 9th June back on the all weather surface, which she has shown a liking for. BABYCAKES has been entered at Salisbury on Tuesday and she hopefully can keep her improved form going.

GRAMERCY

GRAMERCY looked in good form ahead of his run at Epsom on Friday.

HYPNOTIZED

HYPNOTIZED was in good form and he could possibly run next at Royal Ascot.

MOYENNE CORNICHE

MOYENNE CORNICHE was in good form and he will run as soon as we get plenty of wet weather.

CRUNCHED

CRUNCHED looked in good order after his race at Salisbury.

ADMISSION

ADMISSION is in cracking form and he pleased the head lad with the way he worked.

PROMPTER

PROMPTER is entered at the weekend and he looks to be well over his Chester run and was in great form.

MONT AGEL AND WIGMORE HALL

MONT AGEL looks in fantastic form and he was not declared for Friday at epsom. he is in on Saturday at Epsom and I think wherever he runs he will give a good account of himself. WIGMORE HALL is in great form and could run at Doncaster on Saturday.

STRONG VIGILANCE AND COORDINATED CUT

STRONG VIGILANCE looks to be back in good form after his gelding operation and he led our Derby runner COORDINATED CUT who went well ahead of the big race.

HIGHLAND LEGACY AND WILD ROSE

HIGHLAND LEGACY looked in great form as he led WILD ROSE who heads to Musselburgh on Saturday,

MONDAY 31ST MAY

It has been a tense few days with Coronation Cup and Derby confirmations, which have been checked and checked again and checked again and also printed off for back up. Thankfully we seem to be okay so far and now it is just the declaration stage we have got to get through.

On Saturday we had two runners at Newmarket, the first of these being SYRIAN. Thankfully the rain arrived and he ran good race to finish fourth. He appeared to miss the break, which is what was the intention. He made ground from the back and he appeared to hang both ways. but he is running much better and hopefully he will have his day soon. Later on the card we had LOMBOK who looked to be travelling nicely throughout his race and was settled much better. His effort was only short lived and he would probably have given a better account of himself, if we had not received the rain.

On Sunday we had just the one runner at Newmarket where TELL HALAF ran another good race. TELL HALAF ran with plenty of credit considering he raced well off the pace and it was proving difficult to make up significant amounts of ground. Jamie gets on really well with the horse and hopefully he should be capable of winning in this sort of grade in due course.

Tomorrow we are excited at the reappearance of our Newbury winner MARGOT DID. She has taken her race well and seems to have improved for it. hopefully she can continue to progress by giving a good account of herself here. COLLECT ART goes into his race at Yarmouth off the back of a win and he is going to wear a visor as we think it will help him travel better in his race. Hopefully he will now have got some confidence and can show he can be progressive here. At Leicester we have JUICY PEAR running in the claiming race. He has some good form and should be capable of winning in this sort of grade.

FRIDAY 28TH MAY

Well sadly the boss did not get to Epsom for the "Breakfast with the Stars" due to the weather, the helicopter was not allowed to take off. It meant that our jockey was also stuck in Newmarket and so we had to rely on an ex jockey Ernie Johnson to ride him. He went well and we were pleased with how everything went in preparation for the race.

We had two runners also yesterday at Wolverhampton. MISS CHAUMIERE ran I thought with some encouragement although her finishing place would not suggest this. She travelled nicely for the early part of the race and although at time still very green and having to be kept up to her work, she looked as though she just got tired in the last two furlongs. She will have certainly needed this run and I thinks she will come on a lot from this. BAKONGO was quite fancied in the yard but she she did not run as well as expected and she is certainly better than this run would suggest. Hayley had her held up for the early part of the race. She made good headway with over two furlongs to run but then weakened inside final furlong. She has taken the race well and I am sure we will see a much better BAKONGO when she next runs.

Today we have seen a good effort at Newmarket by  ROYAL LIAISON who looked quite green but was starting to get the message as the race unfolded and run on well to finish sixth. She would certainly have appreciated more cut in the ground, but she ran with credit and will certainly have learnt a lot from her racecourse experience today. FAR FROM OLD is certainly proving to be frustrating as he works so well at home. It looks as though he may benefit from the help of either blinkers or a visor next time as he certainly has ability.

Tomorrow we are running SYRIAN and he would be greatly helped if the rain that is forecast arrives in time for his race. He was originally due to run at 4.30pm which was great as the rain is forecast to arrive at lunchtime, but Newmarket have now changed the race times and he is due to run at 2.45pm. He is in great form and so hopefully he should give a good account of himself. LOMBOK is our only other runner and he also is at Newmarket. In my opinion he did not possibly stay over two miles last time and I think he will be more suited by the mile and six. he has been putting in some decent work at home and I know he has ability.

On Sunday we have just the one runner when TELL HALAF runs at Newmarket in the last. He was unlucky at Nottingham and he looks a progressive sort. he should hopefully be able to do himself justice here.

WEDNESDAY 26TH MAY

We were delighted to see COLLECT ART get off the mark at Lingfield yesterday. He won in good style making his handicap debut. Always close to the pace, he hit the front over a furlong out and stayed on well. Hopefully the penny has finally dropped and he can win again with further improvement a possibility. He has been entered at Yarmouth in two races on Tuesday and could run in one of them, if they look suitable. Our only other runner yesterday was BLUE ZEALOT and she was settled towards the rear of the field and when asked for effort she did not find as much as we had hoped. Jamie felt she would be much better over a longer trip. She has taken the race well and we will see how she is before making further plans. She is quite a slight filly, who still needs to fill her frame as she still looks on the weak side.

We have a blank day today and then on Thursday we have two runners at Wolverhampton. BAKONGO should have a very good chance in the handicap and she looks in great form since her win at the track in April. She has missed entries due to the dry conditions that we are experiencing at present and we hope we have found and ideal opportunity for her. Also on the card, it is great to finally see MISS CHAUMIERE back on the racecourse. She ran last year at Goodwood and then went really backwards after her race and looked really weak. She now looks a different filly and looks more like a racehorse. Hopefully she will show some encouraging signs tomorrow, but she will certainly benefit from the run.

On Friday we introduce a nice two year old to the racecourse at Newmarket called ROYAL LIAISON. She has been doing some nice pieces of work at home and signs are definitely encouraging. Also at Newmarket FAR FROM OLD makes a re-appearance and he certainly works much better than he is showing on the racecourse. Hopefully conditions will be more in his favour here.

With the Derby fast approaching we have the opportunity to work COORDINATED CUT at Epsom in the morning. It is all part of “breakfast with the stars”, which is a media thing in the build up to the Derby. He will head to Epsom tonight and tomorrow morning he will have a canter on Epsom Racecourse to get him used to the track. Jamie Spencer will partner him and Ian Burns our apprentice will lead him. It will be a great experience for Ian to ride on this famous track. We did it when Motivator won the Derby and so it has proved lucky for us before and hopefully it will do again. He seems in terrific form and we are hopeful that he will give a good account of himself.

Today due to firm ground on the gallops the horses again worked on the watered gallop. My camera has broken so I had to go back to my trusted old Kodak digital camera which certainly takes much better pictures than my new one!

INDIAN WAR DANCE AND SWEETIE TIME

INDIAN WAR DANCE has certainly been shaping up over the last week or so and she is now ready to have entries made as soon as her name has been registered with Weatherbys. SWEETIE TIME has come on from her run and although she looks to have finished well behind the angle on the water gallop is very deceptive and she worked well.

STAR SURPRISE AND LOCHAN MOR

STAR SURPRISE is coming along nicely and is nearly ready to do himself justice on the track and he worked with LOCHAN MOR who seems to be back to his best after his disappointing run at Southwell.

ROSA MIDNIGHT AND MISS VILLEFRANCHE

These two fillies have only just stepped up into faster work and both pleased with the way they went on the gallops here. Both are progressing the right way and just need a bit more work.

MONT AGEL, WIGMORE HALL AND TACTICIAN

Again the camera angle does TACTICIAN no favours here. He worked well sitting in behind the other two with MONT AGEL leading. MONT AGEL has looked really good in his work of late but is in desperate need of some rain in order for him to run. WIGMORE HALL sat in second and he looked in fantastic form.

CRUNCHED AND AL DAFA

CRUNCHED seems to have taken his race at Salisbury well, where he gave a much better effort and he worked nicely partnering recent Nottingham winner AL DAFA who looks in great form after his win.

MOYENNE CORNICHE

It was good to see MOYENNE CORNICHE back on the gallops and he did a nice piece of work under our Head Lad Richard Simpson.

TELL HALAF AND MADAME ROULIN

TELL HALAF looked in good order ahead of his run down here at Newmarket on Sunday and he was partnered by MADAME ROULIN who was watched by one of her owners Mr James Boughey and she looked in great form.

MONDAY 24TH MAY

We were absolutely delighted with MARGOT DID’S win at Newbury on Saturday. She won the race in great style and it was especially pleasing for us to provide Mr Redman and Mr Philipps with a winner as they have been so loyal to the yard for so long, having horses with us since we started. She looks as though she could be a nice filly and it was impressive how she handled herself at the races and the way she won. Also on Saturday we had SUNNY GAME who I felt was very unlucky. He got left in the stalls at the start of the race and was settled at the rear. When asked to go he did not get the clearest of runs and had to be switched wide and was running on really well, but the line came too soon and he had to settle for third.

This afternoon we have seen MAIN SPRING at Carlisle and she was settled in midfield from the start of the race. She was asked for effort with four furlongs left to run, but did not find a lot and finished fourth. It’s a shame that she has not been given a chance by the handicapper and in this race she was carrying top weight. Hopefully now they will give her some relief and give her a winning mark. Later this afternoon we have seen OLD MASTER EXPERT finish third. He was always travelling nicely and when asked to go he did not quicken in the fashion we had hoped. He looked to have been beaten by a decent horse of Richard Hannon’s who came a long way clear of the rest of the field. We will see how he is over the next couple of days before making further plans with him.

We have two runners tomorrow and we are hoping for a change of luck with COLLECT ART. He has been in good form at home and he is certainly better than he has been running. We are hoping that the conditions will be in his favour and he will give a much better account of himself. At Ripon we run BLUE ZEALOT and she is improving with every run. She is a sweet filly who is very well bred and hopefully we will be able to get a win out of her before the end of the season. She should suit the conditions of the Ripon race and hopefully she will have her day here.

FRIDAY 21ST MAY

We had two runners yesterday at Southwell, the first of these being CONCEPTUAL ART and he again run with credit. He tracked the leaders and made some good headway with two furlongs left to run. When asked to go he looked to stay on at the one pace. He has taken the race well and hopefully with experience it will not be long before he is winning his maiden. Later on the card we thought SOUL HEAVEN would give a good display in a race we felt would suit him. He was steadied at the start and was held up in touch. He was asked for effort with three left to run  but was soon beaten. He desperately needs some give in the ground and we are not sure if it was a case of him not handling the deep Southwell surface. In the evening CRUNCHED ran a much better race at Salisbury and seemed to appreciate the step up in trip. Hopefully he is now heading in the right direction and another win will be on the cards for him.

Tomorrow we head to Newbury with a nice two-year-old filly called MARGOT DID. She has been in great form since her arrival from the breeze ups and has been doing some nice pieces of work She has fifteen opponents to face and we are hopeful she will give a good account of herself. In the last at Chester we have SUNNY GAME running and he has also been in great form since his win at Windsor. He is in great form and we think he will run a good race.

WEDNESDAY 19TH MAY

We have now hit the twenty winner mark and that came, yesterday courtesy of AL DAFA. With four runners at Nottingham we had hoped that we might gain a win earlier on the card with we felt, good chance with TELL HALAF and BABYCAKES. TELL HALAF started the afternoon off for us, and he ran a nice race, possibly being beaten by his draw and maybe the drop back in trip and finished fourth. He has taken the race well and we know there is more to come from him. Later on the card we felt we were slightly unlucky with BABYCAKES. Hayley got her out of the stalls and had her nicely settled towards the rear of the field. When asked to go the eventual winner got first run on her and although she was closing all the time the line came too soon and she had to settle for second place. MOTIRANI has now had his three runs and is now due a handicap mark. He has not shown as much as we had hoped, but he is a very backward horse who certainly needs some cut in the ground and hopefully now he is handicapped we will be able to find a suitable race for him, that he can do himself justice in. That meant it left AL DAFA to provide us with a win yesterday. He was given a good ride by Jamie who certainly made his mind up for him He had to be ridden from the gates to get handy and then came under pressure when asked for effort in the home straight. The further he went the better he looked, but he did little to help his cause by hanging left inside the final furlong.

Today we have possibly been unlucky again with HYPNOTIZED who did traveled really well for the early part of the race. When asked to go he did not get the clearest of runs and when he did manage to get out, the eventual winner had already gone three or four clear and although closing all the time the line again came too soon for him.

We have two runners tomorrow and we have good chances at Southwell when CONCEPTUAL ART returns to the track after his third last time out at Lingfield and as long as he does not find the deep surface an inconvenience he should run well. Our only other runner at Southwell is SOUL HEAVEN and again we hope he will like the Southwell surface. He has been in great form after his Kempton run and we have been waiting for the softer ground with him, which has not arrived and so he will try his hand again on the all weather. In the evening we head to Salisbury where we are hoping CRUNCHED will bounce back to form. He has been going well at home so hopefully this race will be ideal for him.

Today the horses worked on the watered gallop.

OLD MASTER EXPERT AND STAR SURPRISE

The first group to work consisted of OLD MASTER EXPERT and STAR SURPRISE. OLD MASTER EXPERT looks to have really come on from his run and looks as though he will take all the beating next time. STAR SURPRISE is heading the right way and should be ready for a run shortly.

MARGOT DID, FRECKENHAM AND MAMA LULU

MARGOT DID is entered at Newbury on Saturday evening and she has impressed every time I have watched her work. She looks set to run and I think she will give a good account of herself. FRECKENHAM looks to have come on a lot from her run at Warwick and she is in at Lingfield also on Saturday evening. MAMA LULU looked to take a while to get going today and she may just need a bit more time.

CRY FOR JOY AND EL PRADO EX WARSAW GIRL

CRY FOR JOY is a filly that came via the breeze ups and she looks to be heading the right way. We are waiting for the El Prado Ex Warsaw Girl to be named as she is about ready for the entry stages and she was ridden by Jamie Spencer and looked to go well.

MONT AGEL, REGENERATION AND GRAMERCY

MONT AGEL looked in good form and seemed to certainly appreciate the softer ground on the water gallop leading recent Warwick winner REGENERATION and GRAMERCY who could head to York on Saturday.

DR FINLEY AND COLLECT ART

DR FINLEY has been waiting for some rain and he worked well but is now waiting for conditions to change in his favour. He went with COLLECT ART who is entered at Lingfield on Tuesday.

MISS CHAUMIERE AND MAIN SPRING

Our final group to work was two fillies MAIN SPRING who could possibly head to Carlisle on Monday and she was joined in her work by MISS CHAUMIERE who is starting to come to hand.

MONDAY 17TH MAY

Sadly our best result on Friday was having two seconds which is good, but it would have been great to add to another two, to our winner’s total. We started of the day at Newmarket where we had three runners. The first of these was a nice two-year-old filly called SWEETIE TIME and she did not run as well as she had been working at home. She tracked the leaders and then when asked to go with a furlong left to run she did not quicken and finished towards the rear of the field. She is definitely better than her placing would suggest and I think now she has had some racecourse experience she will be a lot better next time for it. JUICY PEAR was held up towards the rear of the field and made some good headway with three furlongs left to run. He hung left as he met the rising ground and his challenge amounted to nothing. He is getting quite hard to figure out as he certainly works better at home. Our last runner of the Newmarket meeting was BURGHLEY who broke well and was steadied and dropped in rear. He made good headway over three furlongs and when asked to go he stayed on at the same pace inside the final furlong. He looks as though he would possibly want more give in the ground and I am sure it will not be to long before he is winning again. At Newbury we had ACTIVATE running and he ran with a great deal of credit being beaten by what looked to be a nice horse if somewhat naughty as he veered across the track inside the final furlong. Our horse made a good move, following him through as he was settled towards the rear for the early part of the race and when coming through with his run he just failed to get up and get his head in front. It was another good run from our horse and he looks to have taken the race well. After the withdrawal of SUNNY GAME at York it left us with just ADMISSION at Hamilton in the evening. He was settled towards the rear of the field travelling really nicely and when asked to go he looked quite green still. It looks as though we might just catch the winner who made all but we could not peg him back. It is fair to say that our horse would have been suited by more cut in the ground but sadly they did not seem to get as much rain as had been forecast. It was a good run and he should only be a matter of time before he is winning in this particular company.

On Saturday we were left with only the one runner after the withdrawal of CONCEPTUAL ART due to the firm ground at Newmarket. FAR FROM OLD took his chance and after some good work at home I thought he would run much better. He was always kept up with the pace and traveled well for the majority of the race. When asked to go with three furlongs left to run he dropped away and finished down the field. He seems to be fine after his race and hopefully we will be able to find the key to him to get him back into winning ways as he is such a lovely, well mannered horse.

Today we have two runners. RED AMY has a good chance at Wolverhampton where we feel conditions are hopefully in her favour. She ran well on her first outing of the season at Kempton and then did not run as well as expected back on the turf at Bath last time out. She seems in good order and hopefully this race will be the ideal opportunity for her. Tonight at Windsor we have BLUE ZEALOT running at Windsor and she has taken a while to come to herself, but is starting go the right way. Her work has improved and hopefully she will run with credit here.

Tomorrow we have four runners at Nottingham with good chances. BABYCAKES and TELL HALAF both are in great form after there wins and we expect good runs from them. MOTIRANI is another runner at the meeting and he is starting to come to hand. He is still quite green and babyish but he is starting to get the hang of things and is capable of winning races. Our last runner on the card is AL DAFA and he has been going much better in his work at home and hopefully is now ready to do himself justice on the track after two moderate efforts

FRIDAY 14TH MAY

Thankfully SARISKA is fine after her race and is in good order this morning. She had a nice lead out this morning and a pick of grass in the sunshine. She won in such a style that pleased everyone connected with her especially as the ground was not in her favour. Jamie gave her a good ride and was very positive with her and when asked to go she quickened well. It is great to get the run into her and she will now head for the Coronation where hopefully the ground will come in her favour. COORDINATED CUT also ran well in the Dante and at one point I thought he was just going to win. He looks to stay well and maybe he does need further than a mile and a quarter. He ran with credit and also has taken the race really well. At Salisbury WILD ROSE stayed on well to finish third. The winner looked to have won easily, but she stayed on well and it was another consistent run from her finishing in the placings. In the evening we were left with CONSIDER YOURSELF at Newmarket and she missed the break from the starting stalls and was always going to be struggling after this. We expected a better run from her and think this race is best forgotten. We will see how she is over the next couple of days to see if anything comes to light as she had been in great form at home prior to the race.

Today we have a good chance at Hamilton in the listed race with ADMISSION. His form is working out really well from the Newbury race where he finished third and hopefully if they get the rain that is forecast he should have a good chance. At Newmarket we have a nice two-year-old making her racecourse debut called SWEETIE TIME. She has been pleasing in her work at home and we think she will give a good account of herself here. Also at Newmarket we have JUICY PEAR who certainly shows more ability at home than he has possibly showed on the track especially in his last run and hopefully he will go much better here. Our last runner at Newmarket is BURGHLEY and he looks in great form after his third at Chester. He is capable of winning races and today may just be his day. Our last runner is at Newbury where ACTIVATE hopes to keep on the winning trail and he has been in great from since his win at Kempton.

On Saturday we have just the two runners, FAR FROM OLD and CONCEPTUAL ART. FAR FROM OLD was in great form, but did not run as well as expected last time at Newmarket. He is working well and we expect him to run much better tomorrow afternoon. CONCEPTUAL ART needs some cut in the ground, if he is to take his chance and the boss will walk the course this afternoon before deciding if it is suitable for him to take his chance.

WEDNESDAY 12TH MAY

We have now hit the eighteen winner mark which is fantastic thanks to BABYCAKES win at Wolverhampton on Monday. She was raised 4lb by the handicapper for finishing second on her handicap debut over course and distance 16 days earlier. She went one better with a good display under top weight and we hope she will be a progressive three-year-old handicapper.

On Tuesday we had had two runners and were hopeful of hitting the nineteenth winner mark with FRECKENHAM. She broke well, but raced very green through the early part of the race and was staying on well at the end. She is sure to come on from the run and we feel she will be spot on next time. Our only other runner at the meeting was MADAME ROULIN and on her form from the all weather where she was beaten by Kingston Acacia, she was weighted to go a lot closer but she did not run as well on the turf. She is a filly who has shown more of a liking for the all weather at home and maybe she will be kept to this surface until she has at least broken her maiden.

Today we have no runners and then the rest of the week goes into overdrive and we are extremely busy again. Tomorrow we have runners at Newmarket where CONSIDER YOURSELF heads. She has been in great form at home and is really starting to come to herself. She certainly possesses ability but she is such a big filly who is filling her frame all the time. At Salisbury WILD ROSE makes her re-appearance after her third at Kempton. She has been working well at home and I think she will run well. At York we have big excitement as SARISKA is due to make her debut for the season after missing Newmarket’s Dahlia Stakes in the Middleton Stakes. She has been in great form at home and has impressed in her work. It is great to see her go against Midday again and I am sure it will be a great race where hopefully we will come out on top. Also at York, it is real tense stuff as we have COORDINATED CUT running in the Dante straight afterwards. He has been in great form since his win at Newmarket and we are hopeful for a good run here to keep the Derby dream alive.

Today the horses worked on the peat moss Mr Harris was out watching his filly SWEETIE TIME working ahead of her run down here at Newmarket on Friday.

SCREENPRINT AND STAR SURPRISE

The first group to come up consisted of two, two year olds SCREENPRINT and the DUBAWI EX DUBAI SURPRISE who both worked well. This was the first serious piece of work that each of them had done and they certainly look to be heading the right way. The Dubawi is about to be called STAR SURPRISE.

MAMA LULU, MARGOT DID AND SWEETIE TIME

I have been out twice now and watch the two-year-old fillies work and I have been really impressed with the EXCEED AND EXCEL EX SPEACIAL DANCER and I have today sent her passport off to Weatherbys as she is being called MARGOT DID (Margot after Margot Fonteyn and did as she is by Exceed and Excel, so it is MARGOT DID Exceed and Excel!). She again worked well as did SWEETIE TIME who has been declared to run down here at Newmarket on Friday. MAMA LULU is starting to come to hand and should be running soon.

CRY FOR JOY AND THE EL PRADO EX WARSAW GIRL

CRY FOR JOY and the EL PRADO worked over a straight five and they finished nicely together. They were both going up the gallops for the first time and they certainly look to be going in the right direction.

SUNNY GAME, ACTIVATE AND CRUNCHED

ACTIVATE, SUNNY GAME and CRUNCHED worked over the straight six furlongs and then three furlong along the top and all looked in good order. SUNNY GAME has been declared for York on Friday whilst ACTIVATE heads to Newbury. CRUNCHED is ready to run again and we will start making entries for him shortly.

AL DAFA AND GRAMERCY

AL DAFA and GRAMERCY worked over a straight seven and both looked to be in good form. AL DAFA is entered at Nottingham on Tuesday.

MAIN SPRING looks to coming to hand nicely and worked well with MISS CHAUMIERE who is really starting to shape up.

FAR FROM OLD

FAR FROM OLD looked in good form and he is pencilled in to run on Saturday at Newmarket and Richard our head lad seemed pleased with him.

MONDAY 10TH MAY

On Saturday we were delighted with how OLD MASTER EXPERT ran at Ascot. He was a little bit green and seemed to take a while to get going but he stayed on well. He was beaten by a horse that had already had racecourse experience and we think he will come on a lot for the run. Later on the card we had LOMBOK running and it looked to be a very steady pace early on and he was always travelling well in about fourth or fifth. When asked to go he did not appear to quicken and finished eleventh. I could be wrong, but it looked to me that he probably did not stay the two miles and I think he would better over a mile and six. He has taken the race well and hopefully it will put him spot on for next time.

In the evening at Warwick it was great to see REGENERATION get his head in front. Always chasing the pace, he got to the front at the furlong marker and, hard driven, stayed on gamely. It was great to see him finally get of the mark for the season and hopefully he will build on this and can have a productive season.

Today we have a good chance at Wolverhampton with BABYCAKES who looks a different filly this season. She has been in good form since her second last time out and hopefully can go one better her.

Tomorrow we have two runners when we run a nice two-year-old called FRECKENHAM. She looks to be a nice filly and is sure to give a good account of herself. Later on the card MADAME ROULIN tackles turf for the first time this year after a decent effort on the all weather. She looks in good form at home and should give a good account of herself.

The horses worked on the Peat Moss and the pictures were taken by the lovely heath man Mick who had his camera on the gallops and was trying to give me a few pointers about my camera.

HIMALAYAN MOON, MAIN SPRING, BAKONGO AND WILD ROSE

BAKONGO worked well in the gallop as did WILD ROSE. Both are entered on Thursday and a decision will be made in the morning which one will run. Sadly HIMALAYAN MOON was not showing a lot on the gallops and has gone back to New England Stud where a decision will be made about her future. MAIN SPRING also looks to have improved and is now handicapped.

EXCEED AND EXCEL EX SPECIAL DANCER, KHELEYF EX SANPALA , ROYAL LIAISON AND NEYTIRI

The new EXCEED AND EXCEL filly that came from the Guineas Breeze Ups looks to be a nice filly who is showing encouraging signs really quickly and could be ready to run shortly. She is hopefully going to be called MARGOT DID, if it all goes through with Weatherbys. ROYAL LIAISON looks ready to do herself justice and the KHELEYF filly and NEYTIRI are starting to come to hand.

AL DAFA AND COLLECT ART

COLLECT ART worked much better here and went well with AL DAFA. He is in a claiming race on Thursday and if he is declared he should run well.

CONCEPTUAL ART, MADAME ROULIN AND JUICY PEAR

CONCEPTUAL ART looked in good form and he has bypassed Southwell and has been entered at Newmarket on Saturday instead. MADAME ROULIN is running tomorrow at Warwick and JUICY PEAR is ready to run but is waiting for the right race.

MONT AGEL AND ADMISSION

MONT AGEL worked well and he is entered on Thursday down here at Newmarket. ADMISSION looked in great form and he could head to Hamilton on Friday.

FAR FROM OLD AND SARISKA

FAR FROM OLD gave a good lead to SARISKA and he is entered to run on Saturday at Newmarket. SARISKA looked in great form and hopefully will now head to York for the Middleton Stakes.

FRIDAY 7TH MAY

We had a fantastic day yesterday with a Group 3 winner at Longchamp and a winner at Chester taking us from the unlucky 13 winner mark to 15 so far for this season. Our first winner of the day was ALLIED POWERS who travelled well throughout his race and when asked to go he managed to keep his head in front to win well. He was given a good ride by French based jockey Ioritz Mendizabel and it was especially great that his enthusiastic owners Mr Fish and Mr Ware had made the trip over to Longchamp so they were absolutely thrilled as were we for them. Our second winner came from HORSERADISH who was having his second run in less than a week. He is such a game, genuine horse and he was given a fantastic ride by Hayley and looked to have won with a bit in hand. Earlier on the card at Chester we had two runners in the handicap with BURGHLEY coming out on top of our two runners. He was always up with the pace and just could not quicken to catch the leaders. SYRIAN has had a problem with settling in his races and Jamie did a good job to get him to settle and when he came with his run he was forced to go wide which did not help his chances. It was a much better effort than the Ripon run and hopefully he will have more luck next time.

Today we have seen PROMPTER run at Chester and he was sadly not right and was pulled up after travelling about four furlongs. He was pulling quite hard and then Hayley said he did not feel right so she pulled him up. He looks to have pulled a muscle so hopefully it is not anything more serious and we will get him back this evening and then access him over the weekend. At Nottingham we have had three runners the first of these being DR FINLEY. He ran a good race staying on well under our apprentice Ian Burns. He looks like he stays well and is sure to pick up a handicap this season. BLUE ZEALOT is a filly who has taken quite along time to come to herself and she still looks a bit on the weak side. She is sure to have learned a lot from the racecourse experience and will sharpen up for the run. Our last runner was TITIVATION who possibly did not get the clearest of runs and after taking a while to get going she stayed on to finish third. She would probably of benefited if the course had got the rain that had been forecast.

TELL HALAF was our only runner at Lingfield and he was given a lovely ride by Richard Hughes who had him sat in fourth place for most of the race. When asked to go our horse and the eventual second came away from the field and it looked as though TELL HALAF may just get pegged back but thankfully given a strong ride he managed to keep his head in front.

Tomorrow we have three runner two at Ascot and one at Warwick in the evening. At Ascot it is great to get OLD MASTER EXPERT back on the track after bypassing Newmarket with an abscess. He seems in good order again now and we think he will run a big race. LOMBOK is a real gentleman of a horse and he makes his season’s debut in the two mile handicap. He is in great form at home and it would be great to start his campaign off for the season with a win. At Warwick we have REGENERATION running and after his third at Thirsk hopefully he will be able to go two better here. He is in great form.

THURSDAY 6TH MAY

LOCHAN MOR seems fine after his race and we think it was just a case of him not handling the track and not facing the kick back. He has eaten up this morning and looks to be fine so we are hoping that this is the case as he never looked to be traveling.

Today we have three runners at Chester where we are hoping Jamie Spencer manages to get SYRIAN to settle so that he can run his race. He has been in good form at home and we are hoping that he will be suited by the turning track. Also in the same race we have BURGHLEY running. He has been in good form at home and looks to have got over the disappointing effort at Wolverhampton last time. We know he holds ability and hopefully he will be able to show it here. HORSERADISH has been in fantastic form since his third at New market on Saturday and providing the ground has not dried out tom much we expect another solid effort.

Yesterday we had a boo boo when watching the work. I was having a blonde day and forgot to put the battery back in my camera after charging it, so ended up having a camera on the heath, but not being able to take any pictures with it. I did take some on my phone and although not great after making the effort to go out and watch the work, I thought I would use them.

The horses worked on the Summer Gallop.

SCREENPRINT AND OLD MASTER EXPERT

OLD MASTER EXPERT looked to be back in great form after having to miss his race at Newmarket due to an abscess and he now heads to Ascot on Saturday. SCREENPRINT is a nice colt who is really starting to come to himself.

HIGHLAND LEGACY

HIGHLAND looks to have taken his race at Salisbury well and he had been penciled into run again at Ascot on Saturday, but we have avoided this and are running LOMBOK instead. It will give HIGHLAND a bit more time.

BIN END

BIN END is in great form and he missed Chester this week but will now hopefully be able to run at York next week.

SWEETIE TIME, FRECKENHAM, MAMA LULU AND EMPRESS CHARLOTTE

These four two year olds are gradually being brought to the boil. FRECKENHAM is entered a Warwick on Tuesday and the other three are more or less at the entry making stage.

LOMBOK, SUNNY GAME AND COORDINATED CUT

LOMBOK looked in good form under Hayley and led the work followed by SUNNY GAME who looks to have come on from his win at Windsor. COORDINATED CUT looked to be travelling really well under Jamie Spencer and worked well. He was watched by his owner Mr Inman who must have been pleased with what he had seen.

MISS CHAUMIERE , WILD ROSE AND CONSIDER YOURSELF

It was good to see MISS CHAUMIERE on the gallops and she is a filly who has taken her time in coming to herself this year. She was joined by WILD ROSE who looks to have come on from her Kempton race and CONSIDER YOURSELF who looks a lovely big filly. She is entered at Windsor on Monday but we are not sure yet if she runs at this stage.

TUESDAY 4TH MAY

It was a busy weekend for us all with the Guineas meeting at Newmarket, we always have people calling into to see the horses before going to the races. We were lucky enough to have three runners down here at Newmarket, the first of these being HORSERADISH who again put up a game performance to finish third on ground that probably would not have been in his favour. He tries so hard and gave another respectable effort. He has been declared to run again on Thursday and it would be great to hopefully get a win out of him before the handicapper re-assess him again. I had high hopes for WIGMORE HALL as he had been working so well at home. He was ridden very confidently by Jamie Spencer out the back who was keen to get cover as long as possible. He was brought to challenge the winner well inside the last furlong but could not make up the ground and had to settle for second. There appears to be more to come from him and he certainly proved that he is in this class. Our last runner was HYPNOTIZED who despite the solid gallop raced far too keenly off the pace. Although he stayed on late his earlier exertions took there toll and he finished fourth. He is better than this and he is certainly worth another chance.

On Sunday we had two runners at Salisbury the first of these being GRAMERCY. He did not seem to really settle for the early part of the race and when asked to go he had nothing left. He is a nice horse and ran really well on his reappearance at Newbury so we know he holds ability and I am sure we will see a different horse next time. Our only other runner at the meeting was HIGHLAND LEGACY who had been withdrawn from Goodwood due to the lack of rain at the track. He was settled at the rear of the field and made steady headway with two left to run. He was closing on the winner but the line came to soon for him and he had to settle for second. It was especially pleasing effort as his owners Mr & Mrs Warren had gone to watch him run so we were delighted he put up such a decent effort. At Newmarket we had a frustrating day after having to withdraw SARISKA with a sore foot and OLD MASTER EXPERT with an abscess it left us with just the one runner FAR FROM OLD. He had been working well at home and he was slightly disappointing on his first run for us. He is sure to come on for the run and we know he is better than the run would suggest.

On Monday we had the two runners at Kempton and MOTIRANI raced towards the rear of the field and when asked to go still looked very green. STRONG VIGILANCE looked as though he may appreciate a bit further as he looked to be struggling to go the early pace. They do go very fast on the all weather so maybe going back to the turf will help his chances.

Today we have seen RED AMY finish in seventh in her race at Bath She looked to be traveling nicely for the early part of the race. When asked to go she did not quicken and looked to be staying on at the one pace.

We have one runner tomorrow at Southwell when LOCHAN MOR runs and he should have a good chance if he runs as well as his Leicester run and handles the deep Southwell surface.

ALLIED POWERS heads of the France in the morning to contest the Group 3 Prix d'hedouville at Longchamp. He leaves at 5.00am and as long as they have had enough rain he should have a great chance.

Thoe horses worked up the peat moss on Saturday and with so many horses racing it left us with very few to work.

STRONG VIGILANCE AND MOTIRANI

STRONG VIGILANCE gave a lead to MOTIRANI in his work over the straight seven furlongs and both horses looked in good form.

RED AMY, REGENERATION AND JUICY PEAR

REGENERATION looked in good form working well in this group and he has numerous entries coming up. He was joined by JUICY PEAR who looked to be moving well and RED AMY who ran today at Bath.

GRUMETI AND RIVIERA STARS

These two colts were doing there first pieces of work up the gallops and both were slightly green but the signs were certainly very encouraging.

PROMPTER AND ALLIED POWERS

PROMPTER looked in very good form ahead of his possible run in the Dee Stakes at Chester and he was joined by ALLIED POWERS who looks in great form.

BLUE ZEALOT, HIMALAYAN MOON AND TITVATION

BLUE ZEALOT is a filly who looks to be slowly improving and she was joined by HIMALAYN MOON who had to be kept at, to keep up to her work and traveling in well behind them was TITVATION under Jamie. She looks like running at Nottingham on Friday after missing Newcastle.

FRIDAY 30TH APRIL

Well we hit the unlucky thirteen winner mark on Wednesday at Kempton when ACTIVATE won at the evening meeting at the track. In the five runner field he was settled at the rear of the field and when asked to quicken he came with his challenge and managed to get his head in front by a whisker. He was given a good strong ride and he looks to be a nice horse. He has taken the race well and we will see how the handicapper assesses him before making further plans for him. Earlier on the card MAIN SPRING ran a bit better finishing mid division and hopefully she will now after having her third run be put on a realistic mark for handicaps.

On Thursday we had a very important visitor to the yard when the Queen came to see her horses both on the gallops and in the yard. It is great to meet her and she is just so amazing and genuinely loves her horses and watching them in action which cannot be easy with her schedule and commitments.

Apart from that excitement on Thursday, the past couple of days have been really quiet with no runners, but we look to have a busy weekend with three runners tomorrow at Newmarket and then on Sunday we again have three runners  on the Rowley Mile and possibly two at Salisbury. On Saturday HORSERADISH is our first runner down here and the rain that is forecast would certainly help his chances. He has been in great form since his win at Yarmouth and we think he will run well here. Later on the card we have WIGMORE HALL who was an impressive winner at the Craven meeting. He is another who has looked impressive in his work since his run and I think he will take all the beating. Finally in the last race on the card we have HYPNOTIZED running and he looks to have taken his race at Kempton where he won in good fashion well and looked good in his work when partnering WIGMORE HALL on Wednesday. HIGHLAND LEGACY had been due to run at Goodwood and we are monitoring the rain that they get as so far they have practically missed all the rain that had been forecast and so we have also declared him for Salisbury on Sunday where it looks like they are going to get a decent amount of rain. A decision as to where he will run will be made in the morning. If he goes to Salisbury he will be joined on the box by GRAMERCY who looks to have come on really well from his third at Newbury and he should give a very good account of himself here. On Sunday we have declared FAR FROM OLD at Newmarket and he is proving to be a real favourite with people here in the yard as he is so kind natured and such a gentleman. He is another who has been putting in good gallops at home and I think he will run really well. Also on the card at Newmarket we have declared SARISKA for the Dahlia Stakes. The boss is going to walk the course on Sunday morning to see if he is happy with everything and hopefully if he is she will run. She has been in absolutely fantastic form at home and looks a picture. It would be great to see her run, but she is also in the Middleton Stakes at York on the 13th May if conditions are not in her favour. Our last runner on the card is a nice two-year-old that has been working nicely at home called OLD MASTER EXPERT. He will have his work cut out in a Newmarket maiden but we think he is decent and we expect a good run from him.
