ENTRIES ON THE SIX TO FOLLOW PAGE!
FRIDAY 27TH FEBRUARY
We have had a quiet week this week with sadly no runners and not even any entries. It has given us a chance to get the colours and sponsorship sorted out for the new season which is quite a task as sadly we no longer have a yard sponsor and the horses have to be sponsored in order for the VAT to be claimed back. Our string looks really good and we are all now really eager for the season to start. We have posted on the website this years six to follow competition which we hope everyone will take part in and make it as successful as it has been over the previous two season where we have had record entries each year for.
On Wednesday Emma Berry came to take pictures of our three Motivator Colts for some advertising material. We are really pleased with our Motivators and as you can see from the pictures they look a fine bunch. It was kind of Emma who is John Berry the trainers wife to give us such a lovely picture so many thanks indeed to her.

THE THREE MOTIVATORS
We are nearly to capacity in the yard and we have two new arrivals today in the form of brother and sister. THINK GREEN is a three-year-old filly, who is nicely bred by Montjeu out of Hasty Words and she will be arriving this evening along with her brother who is really good looking two-year-old colt by Haafhd Ex Hasty Words and the boss liked him a lot when he saw him. They are arriving from Mr Gredleys stud and we are really lucky to have five horses now for Mr Gredley.
MONDAY 23RD FEBRUARY
Well we sadly lost HARTY BOY on Sunday when he was claimed after his race at Lingfield. He had to be reined back early on by Jamie Spencer and was still at the rear of the field and looking for room while the winner set sail for home. He stayed on once in the clear but had far too much ground to make up and he still looked very green. He was claimed by trainer Sophie Leech and hopefully his new connections will have some fun with him.
It looks as though it is going to be a quiet week runners wise as we have made no further entries for this week. The yard is now full and due to the volume of horses that we have now got in training, we have had to rent some more stables at the old vets which is just across the road from the yard. We are very lucky that we have got an increasing number of horses and hopefully we will have one or two stable stars in amongst them.
The horses have started using the Al Bahatri on a Saturday which is the long canter we use at the top of the Bury Road. We have used this routine for a few years now as it is a nice long canters and the horses fitness really improves by doing so. The horses that are going to be early runners start working on the gallops in March so this is ideal preparation for them.
MONDAY 16TH FEBRUARY
GARTER KNIGHT made his racecourse debut on Friday and he certainly made an encouraging start for the first mile of the race. He was always kept tracking the leader He was shaken up with three furlongs left to run and was beaten two furlongs from home. He hung badly right inside final furlong which would suggest that he either got tired or may not have stayed. He certainly had a good blow after the race and I am sure he will come on from this experience and will give a better show next time.

On Saturday we had HARTY BOY running also at Lingfield. He was kept running up with the pace and when he was ridden with two to run he was unable to quicken and weakened inside the final furlong. He has been entered again on Sunday at Lingfield and we will see how he is before deciding if he should take his chance or not.

RUBY DAZZLER
The weather has finally improved and on Thursday the Marju filly Ex Dark Rosaleen arrived into us from Ireland. She looks to be a nicely bred filly who has started off slowly with the rest of the string. She hopefully will be a nice, exciting prospect for us this year. She certainly looks the part.

NORTH LIGHT EX WITCH TRADITION

PIVOTAL EX JUNO MADONNA AND COLLECT ART
WEDNESDAY 11TH FEBRUARY
We have declared GARTER KNIGHT to run on Friday. He is a nice horse who we have always liked a lot. He had a few niggley problems last year which has kept him off the track but he looks to be in great order at present. He worked this morning and although he is still quite green he went encouragingly.

FOOLIN MYSELF
We have also made an entry for HARTY BOY on Saturday. He has been in good form after his race and if he runs he should of hopefully come on from his run and have a good chance. A decision will be made if he is going to run tomorrow.

MOTIRANI
Running tomorrow is RAWDON who sadly we no longer have and was one of my favorites. He won his last race for his new trainer Gay Kelleway last time out and he make a quick re-appearance tomorrow. It was great to see him win last time and hopefully he can continue his winning streak although he certainly is not one to have your money on.

BOUNCY BOUNCY
The weather although bitterly cold has slightly improved although we have had a fair amount of rain this afternoon that later turned into snow which thankfully has not settled. We are having some sharp old frosts which are not helping and it is supposed to freeze again tonight.
THURSDAY 5TH FEBRUARY

MISS CHAUMIERE
It was great to see HARTY BOY give such a good account of himself last night. He ran a nice introductory race and he is sure to come on from the run. He was always prominent and just slightly faded away inside the final furlong to take fourth. it was very encouraging and we were all really pleased with his effort. It was nice that he finally hit the track so that his owners could finally see him run as he is owned by a good team of people that includes footballers Ashley Cole and Ledley King who even managed to get to the track to watch the horse run sadly Ashley Cole could not make it.

CHURCH OF ENGLAND
Today we have VODKA SHOT going through the ring at the Tattersalls February Sales. It is a shame that we could not get a win out of her as she is a kind little filly and I am sure she will win races in her own grade. Hopefully she will go to a nice new home and her new connection can have a lot of fun with her.

MOYENNE CORNICHE
The snow did not come this morning as bad as we feared it might, in fact the roads have cleared up well and we certainly have not got the weather that has affected some of the region. It was certainly a sight you would never have forgotten this morning as the walkways for the horses were still slightly icy and so the Bell string when down Newmarket High Street. I certainly think that the people using the High Street had to look twice when they watched 34 horses coming up the road!

MONDAY 2ND FEBRUARY
We have had the most amazing amount of snow in Newmarket today. The horses were due to start cantering but this has had to be put on hold as it has been impossible to get the horses on to the heath. We did manage to get them into the indoor ride so at least we have managed to get them exercised. It has snowed now for most of the day and we must have had a good three inches.

SHAMARDAL EX PAINTED MOON
Hopefully the snow will not effect our runner on Wednesday when HARTY BOY makes his racecourse debut. He was unraced as a two-year-old due to few niggly little problems that kept in him off the track but he looks a picture at the moment and we expect a good run from him. He looks to have the ability we hope to develop into a nice handicapper and although he may still be slightly green we hope that he will certainly show some promise at Kempton. He has always been one of my favourites so I really do hope that he will run well.

HORSERADISH
Not much else is happening and as soon as the weather warms up and the horses have started cantering we will hopefully be able to get some nice pictures to put on the website. We did see the arrival of a new horse today that belongs to Mr Gredley. FOOLIN MYSELF arrived in this morning and he looks to be a very nice colt. He has good form for Barry Hills who trained him previously winning a nice maiden at Newmarket on his last start as a two-year-old. Hopefully he can continue with the promise he has shown in his early days and we will have some fun with him.
