TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER

FRIDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER

We had a busy day yesterday with three runners at various meetings. Our First runner of the days was STEEL FREE and she did not perform as well as we had expected. She appeared to take a keen hold and was held up in fourth. She was ridden over two furlongs out and made no progress and was well beaten over one furlong out. It was frustrating as the race looked taylor made for her. Our next runner was THE BETCHWORTH KID who was given an a real quality ride by Hayley. He was an unlucky seventh in the Ebor. He was settled towards the rear of the field and when first moving into contention on the outside entering the last three furlongs he started to hang and didn't´t appear to be finding to much. As soon as he was switched left in order to make his effort between horses he became more interested and put in a sustained effort to snatch the race by the narrowest of margins. He seemed to appreciate the easing ground here and will now either go for the Prix du Cadran or the Fenwolf Stakes and then be given a break before joining Alan King for a hurdling campaign. We shall really miss him when he goes. Our last runner of the day was BRAE HILL who was running in the evening at Wolverhampton. He was held up from what was a bad draw and he with two furlongs left to run he seemed to just fade. He is much better than this run suggests and hopefully he will show a much better effort next time.

Today we have seen a really nice winner in MR MAHOGANEIGH who we were lucky enough to get when he left Stuart Williams yard. He looked to know his job really well and won very nicely. It is great for his owners Mr & Mrs Bone who also bred him. He looks as though he will come on allot from the run and could be a nice horse. RED HORSE did not run as well as expected and Hayley felt he did not seem to handle the kick back from the track. He was soon ridden and looked unable to quicken over three furlongs out and then weakened well over 1f out.

We have declared four runners at Haydock tomorrow, the first of these being MOYENNE CORNICHE who will appreciate to conditions at Haydock. He has been in good form and he worked nicely on Wednesday with FOUR WINDS. It is great to see HIGHLAND LEGACY back on the track and he will wear a visor when he runs. He looked to be moving nicely up the Watered Gallop on Wednesday and we think he will run well. ART CONNOISSEUR will hopefully show himself back to his best. He was very unlucky last time when the saddle slipped and he has proved he is in this class and we expect his to go close. Our last runner at the meeting is SYRIAN who looked a really nice two-year-old when winning his maiden. He is upped in class here, but we feel that this is the type of company he should be running in. Our last runner of the day is at Leopardstown, where hopefully ALLIED POWERS can bounce back from his third at Galway where he hit the front to soon. He will have the bonus of Jimmy Fortune riding him here so hopefully he can carry on what has been a lucky meeting for us at the track as we have had runners at the meeting for the last four years and RED EVIE won the Matron Stakes at the track.

On Sunday we have SECRET SOCIETY running in the Prix du Pin a Group 3 at Longchamp. He has been declared wearing a visor to help keep his concentration and he should give a very good account of himself. He will fly from Cambridge Airport and is due to fly back on Monday after he has run.

WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER

Well with no runners yesterday we returned to the action today with PROFESSOR JOHN running at Lingfield. He was settled towards the rear of the field and when asked to go he seemed to take an age to get going and run a bit flat finishing sixth. He certainly did not run up to the form he showed in his Chester race last time and may benefit from a bit further.

Tomorrow we have three runners all at different meetings. The first of these to run is STEEL FREE who we are hoping will show the potential we believe she has. She would appreciate some rain which is forecast and as long as Epsom gets this she should have a good chance. Later in the day we are hoping THE BETCHWORTH KID who is in flying form at present can finally get his head in front in the conditions race which is the last on the card. It looks a tough little contest and our horse is in good form and so we expect him to go close. Our last runner of the day is at Wolverhampton's evening meeting when BRAE HILL will have to overcome a bad draw if he is to have any chance. He is a decent little horse and hopefully he will give a good account of himself.

On Friday we have declared MR MAHOGANEIGH to run at Lingfield. He is a nice Mark of Esteem colt that came to us recently and belongs to Mr & Mrs Bone who had INK SPOT and PRESS EXPRESS with us. He has been pleasing the boss in his work at home and we expect him to give a pleasing effort. Later on the card we have finally managed to get RED HORSE into a race after being balloted out a couple. He was unlucky in running at Brighton last time and we are hoping he is better than what is handicap mark perhaps suggests he is.

Today the horses worked on the Watered Gallop

HORSERADISH and FARMER GILES

HORSERADISH is really coming to hand nicely and he worked well with FARMER GILES who looked to be nicely settled in his work.

BABYCAKES AND MADAME ROULIN

BABYCAKES and MADAME ROULIN look to be back in good form and they worked nicely together coming back the straight six and half furlongs. Both have moved back into fast work and are not far now from making racecourse debuts later in the month.

HYPNOLOGY AND PALMDALE

HYPNOLOGY looks a class filly in her work and she really caught the eye as did PALMDALE who looks to also have the makings of a nice filly.

HIGHLAND LEGACY

HIGHLAND LEGACY looked in great form wearing the visor for the first time and he skipped along over the straight mile and looked to really loving the soft ground. He is entered at the weekend at Haydock and we will see what the weather does before deciding if he will take his chance

FOUR WINDS AND MOYENNE CORNICHE

FOUR WINDS looked is fantastic form and worked very nicely with MOYENNE CORNICHE who could possibly run at Haydock on Saturday.

MONDAY 31ST AUGUST

Well sadly no winners to report over the weekend although our horses did run well. On Saturday we sent two runners up to Goodwood for the two day meeting they were having. The first of these to run was CRUNCHED on Saturday and he gave a very good account of himself. He sadly jumped really well and for still quite a green horse ended up making the running He was headed over two furlongs out, but rallied to challenge again over one furlong out and weakened inside the final furlong. He is improving all the time with his work and he has been entered again on Saturday at Wolverhampton.

AUNT NICOLA was our only runner on the Sunday of the meeting. She again ran well but probably would never have troubled the winner. She seemed to take a while to pick up when first asked and she seemd to compromise her chances by hanging right in the crucial part of the race but ran on again near the line and had to settle for third. It would be great to get a win out of this filly before the end of the season.

Today we have runners at CHEPSTOW where we introduce a nice two-year-old filly called WILD ROSE. She has been doing some nice pieces of work and so hopefully she will give an encouraging display. ACTIVATE ran a good race at Newmarket just getting tired in the last furlong and we are confident he will give a good effort here. The form from the Newmarket race is working out well and so hopefully he will go close to give the form another boost. At Ripon we have PIQUANTE running and she certainly deserves a victory. The race conditions seem to be in her favour and so hopefully she will finally have her day.

ALLIED POWERS has arrived safely in Galway and after seeing the six runner field and the ground at the racecourse we are hopeful that everything is in his favour. If he runs well he could possibly stay in Ireland and run again on Saturday as he is entered in a Group 3 at Leopardstown.

We have no runners tomorrow but on Wednesday we are hopeful of another good effort from PROFESSOR JOHN after his third at Chester and he will be ridden by good five pound claimer Louis Philippe Beuzelin. It looks quite a tough little contest with Champagne Style looking to be the main danger.

FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST

HERECOMETHEGIRLS was our only runner on Wednesday and she showed some improvement from her first effort to finish fourth. She was slowly away and was kept towards the rear of the field. When she was asked for effort she seemed to take a while to get going and although well beaten by the first three she ran on nicely to finish fourth. She looks as though she might want further as she does not seem to to anything in a hurry.

Yesterday PASTEL BLUE, who was given a really good ride by Eddie Ahern to overcome a bad draw to finish third. As soon as the gates opened she was straight out and took a prominent position at the front of the field. When asked to go she just could not keep up with the pace and surrendered the lead inside the final furlong. I am not sure if she would have won over six but it looked as though she would have been suited much better by this trip. Our only other runner was FOOLIN MYSELF who was being tried on the all weather for the first time. he was given a lovely ride by Tom Queally and his victory turning into the straight never looked in any doubt. He won in very convincing fashion and hopefully we will be able to find another similar contest for him soon.

Today we have seen CONSIDER YOURSELF who was making her racecourse debut run not as well as expected. She was slow away and it took a while for her to find her way as she was racing very green. She is definitely better than this run would suggest and we would expect her to come on a massive amount for the racecourse experience. We have just seen DOVE MEWS finish second on her drop in claiming class. She ran a reat race but could find no more to beat the winner. She would have loved a bit more cut in the ground but sadly the rain did not arrive but she has run well. We will now have to see if she returns to the yard or if someone claims her.

Tomorrow we have just the one runner when CRUNCHED heads to Goodwood. He has been working well and on his first start at Leicester he gave a good account of himself which we expect him to do here.

On Sunday our only runner is AUNT NICOLA and she looked to have bounced back to form at Nottingham last time where she was second and hopefully she can continue with this improvement here. She has been in good form at home.

Tomorrow ALLIED POWERS heads of to Galway where he has been declared to run in the Oyster Stakes which is a listed race over a mile and half. The owners Mr Fish and his family and Mr Ware and his family are all flying over to Galway to watch him race so hopefully fingers crossed he will give a good show of himself. He should love the wet weather that they have been having and conditions will hopefully be in his favour.

WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST

Well after MISS WHIPPY'S win we return to the action today with HERECOMETHEGIRLS at Warwick this afternoon. She is our only runner and then tomorrow we have declared PASTEL BLUE at Lingfield where due to Hayley Turners ban she will be ridden by Eddie Ahern. This filly works really well at home And I am surprised she is still a maiden, hopefully this will all change by 4.30pm tomorrow evening. Also on Thursday we have FOOLIN MYSELF running at Southwell. He has been applied with blinkers for the first time and we feel that if he handles the all weather he should have a good chance.

On Friday we again have two runners down here at Newmarket and hopefully DOVE MEWS can come  good in the claiming race. She has been in good form and in this type of company she should take all the beating. Also running is a nice two-year-old filly by american sire AFLEET ALEX who goes nicely. She looks as though she is one for next year and everything she does now should be a bonus.

Today the horses worked on the watered gallop.

GASSIN AND LOCHAN MOR

The first group to come up consisted of LOCHAN MOR and GASSIN and both these horse seemed to appreciate the give on the watered ground and worked well together over the straight seven furlongs.

WIGMORE HALL, SYRIAN AND MONT AGEL

WIGMORE HALL looked impressive in his work with SYRIAN and MONT AGEL and he looks to have come on a lot from his run at Newmarket last time. SYRIAN continue to work well as does MONT AGEL who has avoided Newmarket on Friday and could now head to Leicester on Tuesday.

HORSERADISH

HORSERADISH looks a nice individual who is starting to be brought to the boil and he worked well over six furlongs

CONSIDER YOURSELF, ACQUAINTED AND WILD ROSE

CONSIDER YOURSELF looked in good form of this group and worked well ahead of her run down here on Friday. She was joined in her work by the improving ACQUANITED who has been entered at Leicester on Tuesday and WILD ROSE who looks like heading to Chepstow on Monday.

SALVATION and PALMDALE

SALVATION and PALMDALE are two fillies who are starting to be cranked up in preparation for Autumn campaigns. They both moved nicely on the easy ground and are both going the right way.

REDFORD

REDFORD looked in good form and he could possibly head for the Ayr Gold Cup next time.

DOVE MEWS AND AUNT NICOLA

These two fillies both worked really well together and DOVE MEWS has been declared for the claimer down here on Friday. AUNT NICOLA continues to please and she is entered at Goodwood on Sunday .

ALLIED POWERS

ALLIED POWERS looks in good form and he has missed a race in Deauville on Sunday due to the drying ground and could now head to Galway on Monday where hopefully the wet weather they have been having in Ireland at present should be more to his liking.

HIGHLAND LEGACY

HIGHLAND LEGACY looks in really good order and we are desperate to try and find a race for him.

PIQUANTE

PIQUANTE looked happy coming back up the gallops on her own and she is entered at Ripon on Monday where she could take her chance.

MONDAY 24TH AUGUST

On Friday we had hoped our luck might turn with HALFWAY HOUSE at Salisbury. He was settled towards the rear and when asked to go he did not find much luck in running, but he never really looked like mounting a serious challenge to trouble the winner. It is a shame as he has been so consistent of late but he has returned in good form and we will see how he is over the next few days before making further plans.

On Saturday we had just the one runner, PROMPTER who had stepped up to group level. He chased the eventual winner and was ridden with two furlongs left to run. He appeared to be unable to quicken and edged left under pressure making no impression in the final furlong. We feel he would certainly have appreciated more cut in the ground and we are hoping that he will still develop into the nice two-year-old we believe he is.

Well, we are in desperate search of a winner after what seems like a very long time without one. Our last winner was BUBSES BOY on the 6th August so a winner is much needed. Today thankfully MISS WHIPPY has just got us out of the cold trainers table by winning in good style. The victory never looked in any doubt and propelled by her tail she won scoring what look to be an easy victory.

We have no runners tomorrow, but we should be saying goodbye to EDDIE BOY who heads for the Ascot Sales. He is a horse that has ability and hopefully a change of scenery maybe the key to him.

On Wednesday we have declared HERECOMETHEGIRLS at Warwick and hopefully the way she has been working, things are starting to come together for her. We are confident that she will give a much better account of herself after her first run and hopefully she is the type to keep progressing.

FRIDAY 21ST AUGUST

SARISKA thankfully has returned from York in good order after her second in the Yorkshire Oaks. She ran a good race to finish second to a really good filly of John Gosden's and I think it is fair to say the ground would have been more in Dar Re Mi's favour than in our fillies and SARISKA was found to be in season after the race. She has taken the race well and we will see how she is before making further plans for her but it would be a great to see her take this filly on again in softer conditions as I think we would hopefully see a different story. BAHAMIAN BABE was always up with the pace and dropped away in the last two furlongs to finish towards the rear of the field. She had been in good form at home so we expected her to run much better. At Lingfield we had three runners, the first of these to run was GREEK KEY who was held up well in touch on inner of the runners, was ridden and asked for effort well over one furlong out. He then edged right and made no impression from over one furlong out. He has run three times now so is eligible for a handicap mark and hopefully he will fulfil his potential in nurseries. RED AMY has been improving all the time. We have always felt she will be a nice prospect for next season, as she still looks on the weak side. She was slowly into her stride and was pushed along, always towards rear. She was ridden over two furlongs out and stayed on at the one pace to get fifth. BETONY was dropped in behind after start and pushed along well over two furlongs out. She was never going to trouble the winner and the placed horses but she is definitely capable of winning a race and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Today we have seen PROFESSOR JOHN put up a much better effort at Chester after his disappointing run down here. He was given a lovely ride by Tom Queally and was always kept handy. When asked to go he seemed to take a while to get going but stayed on to get third spot. He has not been given much help by the handicapper, who will hopefully not put him up for this effort. At York SECRET SOCIETY gave a good account of himself in the step up into listed company. Hayley felt he would be better back on a stiffer track, as the horses come back to him and he is well suited by Ascot. It is a really good run and he is proving to be a progressive horse. ART CONNOISSEUR did not get to run his race after the saddle slipped back on him early on and ended up on his quarters. He had no chance after this and sadly this scuppered his chances. Tonight we have HALFWAY HOUSE running and he should have a good chance in his race at Salisbury. He has been in great form of late and hopefully he can keep his consistent form going.

We have only the one runner tomorrow when PROMPTER , who looks an exciting prospect runs at Sandown in the Group 3 Solario Stakes. He has come on such a lot since his win and hopefully he will prove he is in this class when he tackles the eight runner field.

WEDNESDAY 19TH AUGUST

We had two runners yesterday at Brighton where due to the watering system breaking the ground ended up firm which certainly would not have helped our horses chances. DR FINLEY chased the leaders and with two left to run he took the lead. He was soon ridden and headed with every chance but could find no extra in the final furlong. His best form is on softer ground so hopefully when he runs next he will have conditions to his liking. RED HORSE who has been of the track for since November ran much better than his finishing position suggests and he will come on a massive amount for this run and I am sure will be much closer next time. EDDIE BOY was our only runner at Nottingham's evening meeting and he was always sat last and never threatened to improve his position. He has ability but he seems reluctant to use it and he is entered at the Ascot Sales next week where hopefully someone will take a shine to him, a change of scenery may be just what he needs. Our last runner of the evening was FOUR WINDS at Killarney and he ran a good race to finish second in this listed class. He travelled like a good horse most of the way and looked all over a winner inside the two-furlong pole. When asked for his effort he seemed reluctant to go to the front, but he is certainly good enough to win a race at this level and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Today we have seen the poor old BETCHWORTH KID have no luck in running again when flying at the finish. He was settled at the rear of the field and when asked to go he came up the inside rail where he met all sorts of trouble and when he did get a clear passage he ran on to finish seventh. I really hope that he can win a big race this season as he is so consistent and certainly deserves to. FARMER GILES was our only other runner today, stepped up into listed company and although he raced quite keen early on, he soon dropped away finishing at the rear of the field.

Today the horses worked on the peat moss.

LOCHAN MOR AND SECRET SOCIETY

LOCHAN MOR travelled nicely and he is just waiting for some soft ground before he takes his chance. SECRET SOCIETY looked in great form ahead of his run in the liasted race at York on Friday.

PROFESSOR JOHN AND ACTIVATE

PROFESSOR JOHN did and easy piece of work ahead of his run at Chester on Friday and he worked with ACTIVATE who looks to have come on a lot from his run.

PASTEL BLUE, L'ENCHANTERESSE AND WILD ROSE

PASTEL BLUE worked well here and I am surprised how she works that she is not a winner yet and the same could be said of L'ENCHANTERESSE who also went well. WILD ROSE is certainly getting the hang of things and and she also worked very nicely.

SHARP AND CHIC AND BELLE ZORRO

These two fillies have been improving in there work every time I have been and watched them and they went nicely together. Both I think would not be to far off a run.

MONDAY 17TH AUGUST

We had three runners on Friday evening up at the July Course. WIGMORE HALL ran an encouraging race for his first time on the racecourse. He was always up with the pace and he looked as though he may have just got tired and ran quite green in the final furlong The winner from the Gadolphin yard looks to be a nice horse and they seem to be able to do no wrong at the moment and all the horses they run seem to be winning, it will be interesting to see if this remains the case with the Ebor meeting starting tomorrow at York. Our horse will come on a lot from the run and hopefully him mind will be fully on the job in hand next time! We had hoped that GASSIN may find the form that he found when winning a Nottingham maiden in June but he seems to have slightly struggled since then. He raced towards the rear and was given every chance when asked to go but could find nothing and was virtually pulled up inside the final furlong when having no chance. He appears to be fine after the race and we will monitor him before making further plans. Our last runner of the evening was BALLANTRAE who ran encouragingly after such a long time off the track. She was steadied at the start and was held up at the rear of the field. She got tired and was ridden two furlongs out. She has taken the race well and with more cut in the ground next time I think she will give a much better account of herself.

We had no runners over the weekend and today we have seen STEEL FREE who I felt was unlucky in running. She started off upsides the eventual winner and then from about fourth dropped right back and ended up in last position and then was running on again at the end to finish sixth. The horse she was upsides when she got shuffled back went on to win the race and our horse was definitely running on again at the end. It is a great shame as this filly has been unlucky a couple of times now and she is such a good looking filly with ability who should be winning races.

Tonight we have a new filly running called THELADYISATRAMP and we expect her to run well although she has looked still quite green in her work. Tonight we are hoping that Jamie Mackay has more luck than Hayley did last week and can get ROYAL BET home in front. He has been in good form since his run and it would be great to provide a winner for Jamie who is a good light weight jockey and after a break has returned to the saddle. He also used to be our yard apprentice so it is really good to see him back and hopefully we can get him going with a winner!

Tomorrow we have DR FINDLEY running at Brighton and after some good efforts he should be up to going close here. Also at Brighton it is great to finally get RED HORSE on the track after some niggley little problems. He has been working nicely at home so fingers crossed for a good show. EDDIE BOY heads to Nottingham in the evening where he takes his chance in the claimer. He is well capable of winning in this sort of company and with the application of the visor he will give the effort we know he ia capable of. Our last runner of the day is FOUR WINDS who contests the listed race at Killarney. He is in good form since his Goodwood run and he also has a visor applied for the first time. The race looks ideal for him but with Aiden O'Brien, Dermot Weld, Jim Bolger, John Oxx and Tommy Stack just to name a few, having runners in the race it is certain to be a competitive listed event.

On Wednesday we have FARMER GILES running in the two-year-old listed race at York, where we are hoping he should have a good chance in this eight runner event. Also running is at the meeting is THE BETCHWORTH KID in the Ebor and hopefully the track will get some rain which should help his chances. He is a genuine horse and is well up to winning a race like this if everything goes in his favour and hopefully he will get more luck in running than he did in the Northumberland Plate where he was very unlucky.

FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST

We have just seen AUNT NICOLA bounce back to form and she turned out to be an unlucky loser. She met trouble on the rail and had to be switched left and ran on inside final furlong. She now looks to have found her form and hopefully we will be able to find a similar event for her shortly.

Yesterday we had PIQUANTE running at Salisbury and she ran well after her break. She looks as though she will be better over a mile and a quarter which she is going to be tried over next and Hayley felt it would be beneficial to race her much handier. Surely it is only a matter of time before she breaks her maiden tag. In the evening we we sent CAUGHT ON CAMERA up to Newcastle. She is such a genuine filly who really gives her all. Paul Hanagan felt he was going to win with a furlong left to run but sadly she had to settle for third. It would be great to win with her as she is such a tryer and gives her all and is a very well bred filly.

We have a really quiet weekend with no runners but FOUR WINDS is heading of to Ireland on Sunday for the Ruby Stakes which is a listed race that is run on Tuesday at Killarney. He will arrive at the track sometime on Sunday evening and will have an easy day, on Monday before he races on Tuesday. He has been in good form and hopefully this will prove to be be an ideal opportunity for him.

WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST

After two quiet days this week we got back to the action this afternoon with runners at Salisbury and Yarmouth. THOMAS BAINES was our only runner at Salisbury and he did not run as well as we had hoped. He took a keen hold when chasing the leaders. He was ridden with two furlongs left to run and was beaten when hampered approaching final furlong. We have just seen NIGHT KNIGHT run at Yarmouth and although he ran much better than he has on his last two starts, he still did not seem to want to help his rider to much. He travelled nicely towards the rear of the field and when he was asked to go he took a while to pick up running on at the end to finish about fifth. Our last runner of the day was ROYAL BET who was slightly unlucky in running when making his chance up the inside rail which was blocked of to him and he was running on again at the end. He settled nice early on and always looked as though he was going to be a big danger to the winner who was winning his fifth race in eighteen days

On Friday we have one runner at Nottingham where we hope AUNT NICOLA will find everything to her liking and she can get some of her form back. At Newmarket we introduce a really nice two-year-old called WIGMORE HALL to the track. He has been working really nicely at home and we think he could shape up into a very nice individual but as with most Newmarket maidens it looks a very hot contest. GASSIN is our second runner at the meeting and he will love the ground and conditions and hopefully this will get him back into winning ways. Our last runner at what is Newmarket's last evening meeting of the year is BALLANTRAE and it is great to see her back on the track. She was a really nice filly last year who had some niggley little problems which she know appears to be over and it would be really great to see her back at her best. She is a filly that we like a lot  and we feel she has plenty of potential.

The horses did not work this morning so I had a very lazy lie in!

MONDAY 10TH AUGUST

We had three runners on Friday evening at Newmarket's July Course. The first of these to run was ACTIVATE who was settled off the pace and when the field quickened he was found to be a bit flat footed but stayed on well at the same pace and is definitely a horse who will improve with his racing. It was a pleasing effort in what could turn out to be a good maiden. Our second runner of the evening was MISS WHIPPY and I do not think I have ever seen a horse that swishes its tail as much as this filly does. She again did it throughout her race and Jamie had her settled nicely towards the rear of the field. She ran on well up the hill finishing a fast fourth. It looks as though she would have been a lot closer had she not raced so green and in this company and the right race should go close next time. Our last runner of the evening was PROFESSOR JOHN and it looked as though he did not act at all on the soft ground and he looks as though he will be more at home on a firmer surface.

On Sunday we had the two runners in the maiden at Leicester where they manage to pass the 7.30am inspection which was called due to the vast amount of rain the course received. The best of our runners was CRUNCHED who was ridden just behind the leaders and when asked to quicken he found it tough going on the heavy ground compared to his more experienced rivals. He ran really well and we hope he is a nice horse for the future. GREEK KEY who also ran in the race was settled towards the rear and when asked to go he hung right handed when under pressure suggesting he did not like the ground. We think that he is a nice horse and he will find his way in nurseries.

We have no runners today or tomorrow and then we get back to the action on Wednesday with THOMAS BAINES being stepped up in trip, running at Salisbury where we are hopeful he will be suited by the extra furlongs. At Yarmouth we have NIGHT KNIGHT and ROYAL BET running and these should both have good chances.

On Saturday the horses worked up the back of the flat gallop

THOMAS BAINES, WIGMORE HALL, TIZNOW EX SHE'S ENOUGH AND SYRIAN

THOMAS BAINES worked well in this group ahead of his run at Salsibury on Wednesday and he was joined by WIGMORE HALL who put in a real decent effort. The TIZNOW EX SHE'S ENOUGH who came to us via the breeze ups after spending time at the Darley pretraining yard and he looks to be a nice individual and he finished upsides SYRIAN who is entered on Saturday in the Washington Singer which is a listed race at Newbury.

ACQUAINTED, THELADYISATRAMP, WILD ROSE AND CONSIDER YOURSELF

ACQUAINTED worked really well in this group and gave a much improved effort in her work. THELADYISATRAMP is improving and she has a couple of entries coming up this week. WILD ROSE is also entered this week and she is improving all time with her work. CONSIDER YOURSELF has only recently come in and she worked nicely settled in behind this group on her first piece of work. She is certainly a lovely looking individual.

LOMBOK AND ROYAL BET

LOMBOK is working really well at present and he has missed a couple of engagments this week but is ready to run as soon as the right race comes up. ROYAL BET missed his race at Yarmouth due to a cut in his mouth and is due to run on Wednesday again at Yarmouth.

PIQUANTE

PIQUANTE looked in fantastic form and she could well run at Salisbury on Thursday.

FRIDAY 7TH AUGUST

Well we had a mixed day on Wednesday evening at Yarmouth when we expected a really big run from ENJOYMENT as she had done such a decent piece of work a few days before she ran. Sadly in the race she injured herself and first thoughts were that she may have fractured her pelvis but thankfully we are now hoping that she pulled a muscle badly as she seems much better. Things did improve for us, when BUBSES BOY won the claimer. He was given a positive ride by Hayley Turner and won well in this sort of company. Sadly he has been claimed by Paul Howling but at least we will still get to see him on the heath when his string passes.

Yesterday we were left after the withdrawal of ROYAL BET with four runners. The first of these to run was HALFWAY HOUSE who ran a really good race just being held from winning. He was given a good ride by Jamie Spencer who seems to get on really well with him and looks to be improving all the time. At Haydock ADVISOR was running really quickly back from his last outing and he looked as though the race may have come to soon for him and also the ground may not have been riding as soft as we had hoped. He has returned in good form and we will see how he is before making further plans. At Folkestone RED AMY gave an improved effort finishing fifth and she seemed to get going, running on at the end of her race. She looks to be the sort who will keep improving and could be okay for next year when she has strengthened. ACT GREEN is proving difficult to win with, finishing third again at Yarmouth. Hopefully we will be able to get a win out of her before the season ends.

Today we have seen FARMER GILES run and he looked as though he would have won his race the way he finished had he not hung really badly at the bend. He gave Jamie no chance who did everything right and then finished like a train but the race was already over. Tonight we have ACTIVATE, MISS WHIPPY and PROFESSOR JOHN to look forward to at Newmarket where Scouting for Girls are playing. On Sunday we have two really nice two-year-olds running at Leicester if the meeting goes ahead after the scheduled 7.30pm inspection. CRUNCHED has been putting up some decent efforts in his work at home and we expect him to give a good account of himself. GREEK KEY looks to have come on a lot from his run at Sandown and hopefully he has improved enough to go close here.

WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST

Poor old L'ENCHANTERESSE got bogged down in the ground at Chepstow where conditions certainly went against her and she could not pick up in the heavy ground. She raced quite keenly for the early part of the race and when asked to make her challenge she was unable to quicken and had to settle for fourth. They then abandoned the meeting which probably should have been done in the first place in light of the rain that did not stop falling all day. It did mean that BETONY had a nice couple of days away in Bed and Breakfast in Wales and did not have to exert herself on the track!

ENJOYMENT and BUSBES BOY are our runners tonight and then we have five runners tomorrow at four different meetings. The first of these to run is HALFWAY HOUSE who has found his form of late and he goes into this race having won his last two. It has meant a rise in the handicap as his rating has gone up but hopefully this grade is not above him. At Haydock, ADVISOR runs back again quickly after his second at Doncaster on Saturday and appears to have taken his race well and is in good form. He will be ridden by five pound claimer Lance Betts who is well worth his claim. At Yarmouth we hope we have found the right race for ACT GREEN to get back on track in a race we feel is well suited to her. We have left the visor off tomorrow but she will run wearing a sheepskin noseband. ROYAL BET could go close, he has improved since he has been gelded and had a short break and has come back in looking really well. Hopefully he can show some ability which we think he possesses. Finally at Folkestone we have RED AMY running and she looks to have come on really well since her Newmarket run. We think that she is a filly who will improve and we expect to see improvement here.

On Friday we have declared FARMER GILES at Lingfield and with just six runners hopefully he can get back on track after his Newmarket run and get me some much needed points for my six to follow. At Newmarket we introduce a really nice two year old called ACTIVATE who has been putting in some nice work at home. It is a big ask to win a Newmarket maiden first time but he is a very nice horse and is one to keep an eye on. MISS WHIPPY is a real little madame and when she works, she seems to use her tail as a propeller and its as if she hopes she might take off. She is a real sweet little filly and winning in this sort of company would not be out of the question for this feisty little lady. PROFESSOR JOHN we feel has been harshly treated by the handicapper for his win at Brighton and although he has been working well at home we really hope that the handicapper is proved right and he will go close here. He is a lovely little colt and is very genuine which is a good thing.

Today the horses worked on the Summer gallop.

ART CONNOISSEUR

ART CONNOISSEUR again worked on his own and he looked in great form ahead of his possible participation in the Nunthorpe. All he needs now is for York to remain fairly dry as he would not want the ground to soft.

MONT AGEL, CRUNCHED AND ADMISSION

These are three really nice colts who are being brought to the boil. CRUNCHED is penciled in to run on Sunday at Leicester. MONT AGEL is really starting to get the hang of things as is ADMISSION.

GREEK KEY, ACTIVATE AND TACTICIAN

GREEK KEY looks to have come on from his run and is entered at Leicester on Sunday. ACTIVATE who looks to be a nice individual runs down here at Newmarket on Friday night and TACTICIAN, although not entered anywhere at present would not be far off the entry making stage.

MISS WHIPPY AND BELLE ZORRO

MISS WHIPPY is a real character and she worked really well ahead of her run down here at Newmarket. BELLE ZORRO is owned by the Vega Group, who are a group of people who purchased the filly in an auction in aid of Tildys Trust which is about fighting childhood Leukaemia. It is through the amazing kindness of some people that this filly was put up for auction at a race night at Newbury on the 2nd July with all proceeds going to the charity and so far they have raised an amazing £160,000 which is fantastic. Hopefully this filly is not far off a run and will give her new connections lots of fun.

FOOLIN MYSELF AND BALLANTRAE

FOOLIN MYSELF worked well ahead of his possible entries at the weekend and he was joined by BALLANTRAE who is really starting to thrive in her work and looks has though she is starting to come to herself. She should be ready to run shortly.

ALLIED POWERS

ALLIED POWERS looked in fantastic form in his work and he is entered to run at Haydock at the weekend but they will need some rain. He has also been entered in France, Ireland and Turkey so exciting times and travels could be coming up for him.

NIGHT KNIGHT AND RED HORSE

NIGHT KNIGHT and RED HORSE are both by the sire Bachelor Duke so it was quite fitting that this pair should work together. NIGHT KNIGHT certainly does not lack ability, but on his last two starts he does not seem to want to use it. He is due to run next week at Yarmouth and hopefully he will come good. RED HORSE is looking a lot stronger and goes much better each time he works. Hopefully we will have no more problems with him and he will now have a trouble free run.

SARISKA

It was great to see SARISKA working and she went really well ahead of her run in the Yorkshire Oaks. She looked to travel really well throughout her work and hopefully fingers crossed she will again show the form that has seen her win both the English and Irish Oaks.

ORBITOR AND PIQUANTE

ORBITOR looks to be thriving in his work and he worked well with PIQUANTE who returned ten days ago after a break having some summer grass.

MONDAY 3RD AUGUST

We hit the 30 winner mark when PROMPTER scored yesterday at Chester. He was taken to the front almost immediately and made all, always doing enough in the straight under mainly hands-and-heels riding and he looked to win with something to spare. It was great to give Motivator his first winner as a sire.

On Saturday we had a busy day with lots of runners all over the country. The main action took place at Goodwood where we had MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE and FOUR WINDS running. FOUR WINDS who had been gelded since his last run was settled towards the rear in absolutely horrendous weather conditions. He made progress on the outside of the field with three furlongs left to run to press the leaders one furlong out, but could find no extra. MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE was held up and made good progress three furlongs out. She went third in the final furlong and run on at the one pace. She ran a cracking race and everyone was delighted with the run. She could run next at the Blandford Stakes at the Curragh on the 12th September and hopefully she will have better weather conditions to contend with. At Doncaster ADVISOR put up a decent display finishing second. He was sent for home a good way out and and was sadly just worn down by the eventual winner. He seemed to appreciate this longer trip and is in again on Thursday  at Haydock where he could possibly run. DR FINLEY provided us with another second at Lingfield where he was slightly unlucky. He again showed plenty of promise but he does not seem to do things quickly and was sound short of room when getting fully motivated in the final furlong and was never quite going to reach the winner. He has taken the race well and hopefully next time he will go one better! Our last runner on Saturday was CAUGHT ON CAMERA who was running down here at Newmarket. She chased the leaders and quickened inside the final furlong but soon weakened. She looked as though she is better suited by the mile and a quarter and so hopefully we can find a suitable option for her shortly.

Tomorrow we have two runners at Chepstow with good chances and we are really keen on L'ENCHANTERESSE chance in this five runner field. BETONY put in a real pleasing effort last time and hopefully she will give another good performance here.

On Wednesday ENJOYMENT makes a reappearance on the racecourse after her fourth at Doncaster where she was very unlucky and we expect her to be in the frame here. Our only other runner at the meeting is BUBSES BOY who has been dropped into claiming class and hopefully he will now be able to get off the mark in this grade.
