Well we have had our first two runners of the year when JO BOY and HOLY EMPRESS ran at Kempton on Thursday but sadly no winners to report.
JO BOY looked to be travelling nicely and was well in touch with four left to run. He was asked for his effort with two furlongs left to run and kept on under pressure to finish fourth but was no match for the eventual winner. He was not disgraced on this handicap debut and he gave the impression that over a longer trip may just suit him better.
HOLY EMPRESS was our other runner and she was held up at the rear of the field. She looked to race quite green with two furlongs left to run and stayed on at the same pace to finish sixth. She is capable of winning races and hopefully we will be able to find a winning opportunity for her shortly.
We have made an entry for STRONG VIGILANCE at Lingfield on Friday. He is a real character who has been with us for a while now and he never does anymore than he has to. He holds ability and he was successful at this sort of time last year.
Yesterday whilst a few of the string worked up the Cambridge Road, it was great to see the rest of the string on there trotting exercise. The horses looked fantastic and appeared fresh and well.
Dubai Sunshine and Strong Vigilance The first group to work consisted of STRONG VIGILANCE who worked with DUBAI SUNSHINE who looked in good form.
Twinkled, Lawman Ex Crystal and Rock of Monet The next three horses to work consisted of TWINKLED who worked well. He was joined by the improving Lawman Ex Crystal and ROCK OF MONET.
Wigmore Hall WIGMORE HALL continues to look good in he preparation for Dubai and looks really well.
